I am currently a student at Sheffield Hallam University studying Mathematics. I am an enthusiastic person in all
aspects of life. I am confident, reliable and enjoy taking on a challenge and always endeavour to succeed,due to

I obtained a temporary vacancy at Croft as a receptionist during the summer. My responsibilities
included answering the phone to patients calling to make or cancelappointments. I also dealt
with registering new patients and issuing repeat prescriptions. This extended my communication
skills further as I learnt how to talk to people in a professional manner.

Whilst studying at University I have taken on a part time job at a Pizza Hut delivery. My
responsibilities include serving customers both in the store and over the phone, preparing the
pizzas and cleaning up at the end of a shift.

During my third year of University, I completed a 14 month work placement at Experian. My
job title was a fraud support analyst in the ID and Fraud analytics team. My main responsibility
was to process FOAM (Fraud Open Account Monitoring) attachments which involved
manipulating and analysing the data in SAS, producing results presentations in PowerPoint and
answering queries. I had to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines which meant I greatly
improved my time management skills whilst working here. I also learnt how to use Experian's
Mainframe software and gained good industry knowledge.

IT Skills
I have admirable IT skills in both PCs and Macs as I use them in everyday life, since starting my degree at
Sheffield Hallam I am especially confident in my ability in using Microsoft Office due to using it frequently in
assignments. I also have experience in using a variety of coding, such as VBA, SAS, SQL and HTML. I feel
especially confident in my ability to create,modify and test SAS code because of implementing improvements to
processes while working at Experian. I also have gained a lot of experience in using SAS Enterprise Miner, Derive,
MATLAB and Maxima at University. But I always want to extend my skills further. My time at University has
greatly advised me on how to use reliable webpages for researching, and also how to reference appropriately.
Skills
I have great communication skills; my confidence in public speaking was founded during my time doing drama
productions in school. My interpersonal skills have improved further since my job at the golf club, as the majority
of the job was working with people and I find getting along with people very easy. I have learnt how to give great
customer service by being friendly and professional. Both my written and verbal communication skills advanced at
Experian because I had to answer queries daily in my job role and I was also given opportunities to present at team
meetings.
I have good team working skills; this is also due to my time at university and the golf club, as a lot of my
assignments involve working in a group, which involved working as a team to research and find a solution. In
addition during big functions in the restaurant at the golf club the waitresses had to work together to serve the food
to a lot of people efficiently. I believe I am good at following, and giving instructions. I also believe I have the
ability to listen to others point of view, as well as giving my own opinion.
I believe I have excellent time management skills, I have shown this from when I began studying A levels to
present because I have balanced education and a part time job, all whilst maintaining a social life.
Interests
One of my favourite things to do is be with my friends and meet new people, as I am generally a very sociable,
bubbly person.
I love performing in drama productions and I was involved in many during my time at school.
Reading is also something I am passionate about and enjoy, fiction or non-fiction, as long as I find it interesting. It
is something I like to do in my spare time when I am relaxing.
I am also quite enthusiastic about keeping fit. I am a member of a gym and I regularly attend the classes and enjoy
using the equipment.
I love getting involved in the sports such as 5 a side football, rounders, swimming, badminton and pool.

My position here was a part time waitress and bartender, serving customers food and drink in a
fast paced environment. This job sometimes involved working on my own independently or as a
team during big functions. I became efficient in using a cash register, as I dealt with charging the
customers and I am now confident in my ability in working with the public. I have gained a lot of
knowledge in catering, such as changing barrels and laying tables.
