The Case of Late Latif & Punctual Pratik
Punctual Pratik: Manager
Late Latif: Subordinate - Senior Team member
Punctual Pratik, has been into the organization for the past two years. He is a meticulous
leader interested in the growth and development of his team members. Many a times he
takes it personally onto himself for the improvement of his team members.
Late Latif, is a senior member of the team, has been into the organization for about three
and half years now. Have grown in terms of technical knowledge but lacks the soft skills.
Moreover, he is not even aware of his weaknesses which are often visible to other staff
members in the organization.
The other day, Pratik, had called all the team members for a brain-storming meeting at 8am,
an hour before the office timings. This, of-course was for the benefit of all the team
members.
Incidentally, that day, it was raining heavily and the traffic was choked at places. Due to this
Latif came in office at 8.30am. Not only Latif was late but a few other team members were
also late.
“Latif you are Late”, when asked by Pratik about the time commitment, while others said
sorry, Latif started, “I am not only one who is late, there are others who still have to
come…” and he started his story of the rains and the traffic, and continued arguing
defensively with Pratik.
