This document discusses language acquisition and the importance of learning a second language. It defines language acquisition as the process of learning to perceive, comprehend, produce and use language to communicate. The document notes that learning a second language as a child is easier than as an adult, and that becoming bilingual broadens one's worldview, develops intellectual abilities, and expands job opportunities. It also explores how technology can support 21st century language learning through games, videos, songs, video chatting with native speakers, and smart board activities.
Identity is about how individuals or groups see and define themselves, and how other individuals or groups see and define them.
Cultural identities are the identity of culture in each country, if another see it will make them know if that one is the country’s own culture.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Let's dive deeper into the world of ODC! Ricardo Alves (OutSystems) will join us to tell all about the new Data Fabric. After that, Sezen de Bruijn (OutSystems) will get into the details on how to best design a sturdy architecture within ODC.

Language acquisition is the process by which
humans acquire the capacity to perceive and
comprehend language, as well as to produce and use
words and sentences to communicate.
3. IMPORTANCE
Language is used to communicate feelings and
ideas as well as gaining information from the world
around us.
Language helps form bonds between people
Foundation of future communication abilities
Learning a second language is easier to
accomplish as a child than as an adult
4. IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING A SECOND A
LANGUAGE
Broadens your world view
Develops intellect
Helps to further understand your native language

English is no longer the first language majority in
America
America is the only developed country where learning a
second language is optional
5. 21ST CENTURY APPLICATION
Today, a language must not only be taught but also
applied to a different subject in order to not only
memorize the language but also understand it.
Language is taught to better understand and
appreciate other cultures and perspectives.
Students are encouraged to use their knowledge of
the language not only inside the classroom but also
in real life situations.
Today, language is taught in multiple ways
according to modern technology.
6. 21ST CENTURY APPLICATION
Language is taught to determine a student’s
potential rather than pointing out what they don’t
know.
Learning a second language allows for personal
growth and multiple opportunities for exploration in
the future.
Due to the changing ethnic makeup in America,
learning languages allows for less cultural
stereotyping and appreciation for different cultures.
7. EXAMPLE OF APPLICATION
Incorporate using a second language by requiring
elementary students to make simple requests or
statements in that language.
“May I go to the restroom?”
“Hello, my name is…”
“Good morning! How are you?”
“How do you say…?”
8. ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY
Learning programs that include games and
activities
