Assessment Objective: Students make a model of the heart that shows its four chambers and the route
blood takes. They also assemble a wheel that illustrates how blood circulates around the body.
Materials
brass fasteners, scissors, tape, red and blue colored pencils, crayons, or markers
Instructions
1. Cut out both circles on the two pages. Cut out the hatch-lined square on the slightly
smaller circle.
2. Place the smaller circle on top of the larger so the black dots in the centers meet.
(Holding the circles up to the light will help.)
3. Push the fastener through the dots. Turn the model over and fold back the ends of the
fastener.
