The share of GDP spent on health care has also increased every year from 5.2% in 1960 to 17.9% in 2010. The top 1% of spenders account for over 20% of total health care spending, while the bottom 50% account for just 3%. Many Americans report delaying or skipping care due to costs. The U.S. spends much more per capita on health care than other developed nations but has varying health outcomes. Employer and employee premium contributions and total premiums for family coverage have also increased significantly over time.

Overview
This course explores technology and its impact on the world around us. Technology influences society, and society influences technology, creating a feedback
loop between them. We will critically analyze this feedback loop in this course through social, historical, and theoretical approaches to technology as well as the
four general education lenses: history, humanities, natural and applied sciences, and social sciences. Each of these four perspectives allows us to better
understand the construction of technology and its interrelation with society. From this enhanced understanding, you will be equipped to draw connections
between technology, society, and your personal and professional lives, helping you to become a better-informed citizen who can make a positive difference in the
world.
Issues and events in technology have a pervading influence on many aspects of society, and how they are dealt with requires diverse knowledge and perspectives
to investigate and change. The purpose of this project is to examine a specific issue or event in technology and how it impacts individuals and society through the
development of a critical analysis portfolio and a presentation in which you will demonstrate your ability to think critically, investigate, and communicate clearly.
These skills are often necessary to achieve personal and professional goals across many disciplines.
In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:
Analyze the evolving role of technology in one’s discipline of study or chosen profession by investigating the influence of technology on modern culture

A Win-Win Situation Benefits Of Industry-Based Group Projects
This document discusses the benefits of industry-based group projects for students, industry partners, and educational institutions. Case Study
You are the CIO of a successful insurance firm with offices in cities across the nation. You provide all major categories of insurance to consumers who include companies and individuals. You recently attended a technology seminar on Cloud computing. It occurred to you that this would offer potential benefits to your organisation and would be well-received by management and staff.
At the seminar you learnt there were many issues to consider, policies to be developed or modified, and new investments to be made to manage a Cloud environment. These included upgrading your ICT Data Security System to accommodate Cloud Computing to protect clients’ and your firm’s data; this needs to synchronise and ensure the integrity of data on servers and end-user devices.
You plan to present your Business Case for Cloud to your CEO, Board and executives. You are required to research the background for a project to implement and manage Cloud, determine the scope for the extent to which you recommend use of the Cloud, use Microsoft Excel to model a business plan, perform sensitivity analysis to validate assumptions, and create a presentation to seek funding and authorisation from senior management to implement and manage Cloud Computing.
As Board members and executives are dispersed across the nation you plan to use YouTube or other medium for your presentation. You will also prepare an Executive Handout containing your spreadsheet and will provide this along with the link to the URL which is where the Executives can access your presentation.
