Answer = Some of the water remained clear with no smell. When water was mixed with oil the oil floated to top and water remained clear at the bottom. Water looked foggy when mixed with vinegar and smelled like vinegar as well.
2. What kinds of human activities could cause oil, acids, and detergents to contaminate the water supply?
Answer = Oil spills can contaminate nearby water sources Improperly disposing oil, acids and detergents can also cause water contamination. Houses septic tank, and pipes not properly installed fan cause nearby water contamination.
3. What are the differences in color, smell, visibility, etc. between the “contaminated” water and the “treated” water?
Answer = The contaminated water is dark, dirty color and the treated water is a light brown clearer than contaminated water. I wasn’t able to smell anything from contaminated or treated water.
4. From the introduction to Lab 2, you know that there are typically five steps involved in the water treatment process. Identify the processes (e.g., coagulation) that were used in this lab and describe how they were performed.
Answer = First thing I did to purifying the contaminated was water was adding the 10grams of alum mixing it with water, which is call coagulation. This caused the dirt to clump up and sink to bottom and separated from the water that was separated from the water. Secondly was sedimentation, when I poured the water that was separated from the dirt into the filter and the marked beginning of the filtration process. While the water was filtering, the water also slowed down while trying to pass through the filter which was made of charcoal, gravel and sand. Organisms have adapted and evolved anatomical, physiological, and behavioral characteris cs that
compensate for varia on within the environment. Organisms have the ability to compensate for mini
mal temporal and spa al varia on within their environment by regula ng their body temperature or
controlling the rate at which water is transpired however, there are limits to an organism’s ability to
compensate for environmental factors. No single species can tolerate all of earth’s environments. The
geographic distribu on of a species is thus limited by the physical environment. Species distribu on is
said to be limited by abio c factors or the non living components of our environment.
All species have a de ned habitat tolerance which is the range of condi ons in which a species can live.
For example, some plant species can tolerate a broad range of soil varia on while others are con ned
to a single soil type. If a species has a narrow habitat tolerance because of one or more abio c factors
then they are limited in their distribu on range. Organisms with a broad range of tolerance are usually
distributed widely whereas those with a narrow range have a

Background
Looking at the history of mankind one thing is really common; all the wars were fought for three main reasons wealth, women and land. However looking at the future of this era it can be easily concluded that all of the future wars will be fought for the sake of water. Water crisis is not just going to be a crisis but a threat to the very existence of civilization. Human beings when sent to this earth were the weakest of all forces but with the quality of living standards and use of resources it conquered all forces of nature. Now coming to the present situation of water in the entire world people don’t have access to fresh water supply in most parts of the world. The situation is alarming as the absence of good quality water can cause numerous diarrheal diseases, including Cholera, and other serious illnesses such as Guinea worm disease, Typhoid, and Dysentery. Therefore quality of good water is necessary for living.
Objective
Considering the increasing number of water related diseases and other issues in the world. Our objective was to analyze, organize and summarize the information in order to find the solution that the people are facing with regards the water related issues. How they can provide themselves and their families with water supply that is purely hygienic and doesn’t cause any harm to them and to their families. The further objective was to find the reasons of what is the quality of water that most of the people are drinking. Is tap water good for health for most of the people in today’s world.

Conclusion
According to Bensel & Turk, (2014), In terrestrial ecosystems, air pollution deposition affects plant physiology; microbial processes; biogeochemical cycles of substances, such as nitrogen; and plant community dynamics. In aquatic ecosystems, acidic deposition results in acidification of waterways, the mobilization of trace metals in surface waters, and ultimately, the loss of aquatic biodiversity.

Introduction
Biodiversity, short for biological diversity, includes the genetic variation between all organisms, spe-
cies, and populations, and all of their complex communities and ecosystems. It also reflects the interrelated-
ness of genes, species, and ecosystems and their interactions with the environment. Biodiversity is not even-
ly distributed across the globe; rather, it varies greatly, even within regions. It is partially regulated by climate
- for example, tropical regions can support more species than polar climates. In whole, biodiversity repre-
sents variation within three levels:

Ecosystem diversity
Genetic diversity
It should be noted that diversity at one of these levels may
not correspond with diversity within other levels. The degree
of biodiversity, and thus the health of an ecosystem, is im-
pacted when any part of that ecosystem becomes endan-
gered or extinct.
The term species refers to a group of similar organisms that
reproduce among themselves. Species diversity refers to the variation within and between populations of
species, as well as between different species. Sexual reproduction critically contributes to the variation within
species. For example, a pea plant that is cross-fertilized with another pea plant can produce offspring with
four different looks! This genetic mixing creates the diversity seen today.
Ecosystem diversity examines the different habitats, biological communities, and ecological process-
es in the biosphere, as well as variation within an individual ecosystem. The differences in rainforests and
deserts represent the variation between ecosystems. The physical characteristics that determine ecosystem
diversity are complex, and include biotic and abiotic factors.

Biodiversity, short for biological diversity, includes the genetic variation between all organisms, spe-
cies, and populations, and all of their complex communities and ecosystems. It also reflects the interrelated-
ness of genes, species, and ecosystems and their interactions with the environment. Biodiversity is not even-
ly distributed across the globe; rather, it varies greatly, even within regions. It is partially regulated by climate
- for example, tropical regions can support more species than polar climates. In whole, biodiversity repre-
sents variation within three levels:

It should be noted that diversity at one of these levels may
not correspond with diversity within other levels. The degree
of biodiversity, and thus the health of an ecosystem, is im-
pacted when any part of that ecosystem becomes endan-
gered or extinct.
The term species refers to a group of similar organisms that
reproduce among themselves. Species diversity refers to the variation within and between populations of
species, as well as between different species. Sexual reproduction critically contributes to the variation within
species. For example, a pea plant that is cross-fertilized with another pea plant can produce offspring with
four different looks! This genetic mixing creates the diversity seen today.
Ecosystem diversity examines the different habitats, biological communities, and ecological process-
es in the biosphere, as well as variation within an individual ecosystem. The differences in rainforests and
deserts represent the variation between ecosystems. The physical characteristics that determine ecosystem
diversity are complex, and include biotic and abiotic factors.

When there is minimal environmental resistance impacting a population, it will exhibit a population explosion. One reason for minimal resistance could be factors that no longer regulate a population (e.g., predator decline or resource increases). Another reason for a population explosion is the introduction of an invasive species.
Invasive species
are species foreign to an ecosystem and are not immediately regulated by the environmental restraints of the particular ecosystem that they invade. This in turn allows their populations to grow seemingly uncontrolled and to displace other indigenous populations. Examples of such an invasive species into North America are dreissenid mussels, commonly known as zebra and quagga mussels. You are the department manager for a thriving orthopedic center that is part of an integrated delivery system (IDS) in Denver. The IDS is owned by a national corporation, with varying sized health care facilities from coast to coast.
As the department manager, you participate in various committees and panels that address multiple aspects of the center’s business and administration. Currently, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the IDS is considering approving procurement of a surgical robotic unit, at the recommendation of the system’s chief of surgery, for use in the thriving but overloaded orthopedic center that the Denver hospital houses.
He has also asked you to prepare a PowerPoint presentation explaining the specific differences among economic factors that must be considered prior to the purchase of the surgical unit.

Outline:
I. Introduction
In this paper I will be discussing the racial barriers and the injustices that go on in law enforcement. I will be giving details on the different racial disparities that many people as well as police officers face. When it comes to racial disparities it's not only a black and white issue, but law enforcement is also filled with different cultures and there are many people who are mistreated and targeted. Police brutality is a big issue as well and from this issue a lot of lives have been taken from mistakes police officers have made. Lastly, I will discuss the many barriers' women face in law enforcement, women are sometimes look passed and harassed and this is a not much popular issue people like to talk about.
