Just to give you a quick overview, Kerio WinRoute Firewall is a software-based security gateway that incorporates a stateful firewall, comprehensive content filter and VPN. This combination provides superior protection at the network perimeter while allow secure access to remote users and systems.

The Kerio Web Filter has become an integral part of gateway security, and it protects an organization’s network from sites known to distribute malware. There is a complete list of 53 categories, with the security related categories as Anonymizer, Compromised, Phishing/Fraud and Spyware and Malicious sites. Of note among the categories are Anonymizer, those are sites which allow users to surf freely through Internet proxies, then there is Phishing, sites that use social engineering to gather user information, and Spyware, those are sites that host software that is unwittingly installed by clicking on seemingly harmless links.
Each user’s activity history is stored in the StaR database which makes it really easy for IT managers and management to find out what users on the organization’s network are doing throughout day.
The new web administration is fast. It looks just like a traditional application but you can now administer most of the settings through any web browser. This includes user management and domain authentication, traffic policies, interfaces, and the Web Filter policies.
We are also launching Kerio VPN Client for Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
It features the familiar interface of our Mac VPN client and gives Mac users the most reliable way to securely connect to the VPN server with a single click.
