Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

5. CHAPTER 1 – Ash-Crash
Once upon a time lived a poor girl named 'Ash Lyentire' who was a girl who had to be a
independent one. Before you read this, let me give you a warning that this isn't one of
those 'very good ending' books so the story continues. Being poor obviously wasn't easy
and also being a orphan. She always enjoyed her life until the accident, her life changed
and she wanted justice, she started hanging more around her parent’s things, she also
started being more attached to the broken car, as weird as it sounds, Ash knew about her
parent and her brother was going into a accident so she tried not to prevent it but sadly,
it didn’t work, she had to live with the name ‘Ash-Crash’ for a long time because of
‘Veronica Leyster.’ Before I continue I must tell you about her mythological planning after
the accident, some say she also was in the accident and survived and some say she is just
weird, no one truly knows what ever happened in the accident, all they know is the family
of Ash’s died…
6. CHAPTER 1 – Ash-Crash
One day, a new boy named Archie had joined, you see now this was good timing for Ash
to make a friend, yet so she disagreed. When she was chewing her lunch on the roof
(where she would usually sit, with no one), Archie joined her. ‘Your quiet, why may you
not approach me Ash?’ said Archie in a confused way. ‘I prefer to be alone, why would
you come to me, again I prefer to be alone.’ said Ash getting very hard with Archie, she
walked all the way to the end, she was 1cm from falling down to her death. ‘I don’t like
the name Ash-Crash, I like Dead-Ash more, what about you?’ whispered Ash in a
menacing way. ‘ASH! Please don’t jump, listen you may not know me but I know you,
please visit the lake, you’re the only one who can save us, Veronica must not know!’ said
Archie in hurry. Before Archie could make another move, Ash vanished. The whole school
looked for her but she was never found for 1 month. Everyday, Archie visited the roof,
wishing Ash would come back…

the silence in a apologetic way. She got up and hugged Archie. Then, the fire alarm had
been called, both of them looked at each other and went downstairs. That was one of the
biggest mistakes of both of their lives, or was it, they saw a masked man who nearly
threw a book which was on fire. Archie and Ash ran. ‘Your great return shall be the worst
return now!’ said Archie while they tried to run. ‘We are on the roof, we have a 0.28%
chance of living…’ said Ash, not looking at Archie. Soon the masked man had reached
them. ‘No escape, huh?’ replied the man in a frightening tone. ‘What’s the 0.28%, we
have to do it!’ whispered Archie. ‘Oh, I guess your in for a good show, just watch me and
him, it’ll be a piece of cake?’ whispered back Ash.

travel soon to see them. I…I have no job and I need money and everything in our house will
be going towards them, m..my brother has a girlfriend and she is pregnant, at home we need
to buy supplies, I feel really unwell…’ said Ash, she had a devastated, frightened and sad tone
all at once. Archie started faking his tear-ups. ‘Go…’ said the masked man. Archie and Ash
thanked the man. ‘Wait, take this gun with you, there is many of me and under the table is a
bucket of water, you can use it if you need…’ added on the man. Ash ran and threw a hug to
the man. Archie also did, the 2 held hands and ran through the flames, soon they came across
2 masked men, one tried to shoot Archie while the other tried to grab Ash. Amazingly, Ash
done a double shot and saved both of them. Then the intercom spoke ‘Ash Lyentire, report to
the main entrance office while the place is extinguished, thank you. Ash hugged Archie. ‘Meet
me here everyday, one day will be special like the stars…’

19. Chapter 3: Report 091
Ash and Archie gave a their last stare before the intercom repeated itself. Ash hurried outside.
Archie watched from the roof when Ash had reached the main entrance. ‘Hi, Miss, how may I
assist you?’ said Ash looking confused. ‘I know what you have done Ash, your behaviour is
atrocious! What was you thinking, shooting 2 men!? There is firefighters in there, it is obvious
you shot them! You will have to be expelled! Your uniform is even blooded up! I’m sorry, your
just to bad to stare at!’ said Miss Jonkins as she slowly dragged Ash into a alley so no one
could hear. ‘Please, this is the only school in this city, I can’t move from my home, I don’t even
have a home…’ replied Ash. ‘Fine, but you will have to hide in my office, your lucky I have a
heart young lady, I will give you spare uniform…’ replied the teacher, as she went to grab
some clothes. Ash then peeked to see if anyone had heard them. ‘Miss, what should we do
about report 091? Should we kill Ash?’ said an anonymous voice. ‘Of course, I’ve just lured her
into a alley which no one will hear her die at!’ Ash recognised the voice, it was Miss Jonkins.
Then she heard a knife be ready for blood. Then she heard, ‘I’m coming, stay right there!’
20. Chapter 3: Report 091
Ash looked around, there was no way to escape, right in front was Miss Jonkins. Then she
came and nearly stabbed Ash. What do you mean ‘nearly?’ Well Veronica jumped and
Archie behind took the knife. ‘I see your sigh, we are the same Veronica, you don’t need
to change because of me, everyone has… but do you need to? You have just saved my
life…’ said Ash. ‘I’m sorry, I found out the accident was real, you really loved everyone and
you saved the love of my life, thank you… I really didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, we
are all now part of report 091, I’ll get my dad to close this case, President Leyster will
close this all for us!’ added on Veronica. ‘Veronica and Ash, let’s not get all comfy, we still
have this lady and…’ started Archie. ‘Ash stabbed her and threw a knife at the anonymous
she didn’t know. Veronica invited them all over. ‘I cannot close this case!! Get out right
now!’ screamed President Leyster. ‘What? But I’m your only fav-’ said Veronica. ‘Sir, let me
say, your assistant was the one wasn’t he, don’t worry he will be safe if you answer our
dear Veronica.’
