- Before starting the process of creating a vision. Ogle’s KWL graphic organizer. \nWhat do we already know? Not only what do we know about technology and staff and leadership and project management. But we do we know about students? They are why we are here. At the end of the day, if what we are doing here isn’t benefiting them there... then does any of it really matter? To discover we what know, we need to meet a few people. \n
- It is my honor to introduce you to Sam Student. \n

- Over the course of his life it is projected that Sam will have 10 or more jobs. This stat comes to us from our friends at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ten is a good starting number but it is likely that the number will be much higher. And what kind of job will Sam Student have?\n
- It is likely that it will be in a service industry. 80% of American jobs are now in the service industry and that number is continuing to climb. One of those people in the service industry is Tammy Teacher. \n

- This is Tammy Teacher. \n
- Over the course of her career, Tammy Teacher has watched society experience vast changes in what it means to be a effective citizen, a productive member of society. The very rituals by which she pays her bills, buys presents, and even makes phone calls has changed. \n
- In the fifty years of her life, the world has made leaps and bounds in technology moving from phones and televisions a luxury in the home, to one in the pocket of most teenagers. Tammy Teacher has grown in tandem with America watching it shift from an economy dependent on production to that dependent on skills and services. with (next slide)\n
- 80% of American employers demanding the four Cs of 21st century learning - creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration - to be used by every new hire. \n
- All of this in a world that is more complex, \n
- more interconnected through the internet, \n
- and more global. \n
- Simply passing it, just won’t cut it any more. \n
