This 3-page document provides guidelines for measuring footwear lasts to input key dimensions into an online search engine. The length and width of the last are mandatory to register, and measuring the two height dimensions is recommended to ensure footwear models appear in all relevant searches. Length is measured from the tip of the toe to the heel apex without heel height. Width is measured at the shoe's widest point where the first and fifth toes join the forefoot. The two optional height measurements are for the instep and toe box.

2. The measurement data shall come from the footwear model's LAST.
It is only mandatory to register the length and width of the Last, but we highly recommend
that you include the two height measures, to ensure that your footwear models are included
in every search made by the customers. If the customer enter all four foot measures, the
search engine will only search through footwear with four measures.
When the system compares foot data with Last data, the system takes into consideration,
the orthopaedic recommended extra space needed for the shoe to fit the foot.
Length (mandatory data)
The length of the Last is
measured from the tip of

NOTE: For ladies footwear with high heel, you shall add 3 mm to the length measurement.
Width (mandatory date)
The width of the Last is
measured from the two
points where the shoe is

3. Height (optional data)
The height of the instep
You measure the height
from floor to top of the Last
as shown on the picture.
The height of the toe box
is measured from bottom
to top of the toe box as
shown on the picture.
