The komodo dragon lives in forests and deserts in Indonesia. Adults typically weigh 70 kg, though some males can reach nearly 100 kg. They have serrated teeth, armored scales, and a blue-colored forked tongue. Komodo dragons are carnivorous and primarily eat animals like pigs, deer, and buffalo, but also smaller dragons and occasionally humans. Females lay 15-30 eggs and the babies are very vulnerable, measuring only 30 cm at birth. The babies eat insects and birds as they mature over 6-10 years to reach sexual maturity. Mature komodo dragons have no predators except humans.
