3. Who Am I
The Komodo Dragon, also called
Komodo monitor, is the world’s largest
lizard species. It is an ancient species:
the earliest known fossils of the genus
Varaous appeared about 100 million
years ago!
4. The Early Years
Mating occurs at or around the feed
sites. In September, a clutch of 15 to
30 eggs is buried at a time.
Youngsters live in trees eating eggs,
grasshoppers, beetles, and geckos.
When they’re about 4 years old and 4
they’
feet long they are ready to try life on
the ground.
5. Habitat Sweet Habitat
I live in Indonesia a few islands have it
there. The distribution of Komodo
Dragons is restricted to the Lesser
Sunda Islands of Rinca, Komodo,
Flores and the smaller islands of Gili,
Montang and Padar.
6. What’s on the Menu
They will eat pigs,deer,and wild
buffalo,snakes,and fish that wash up
on shore. It’s bite contains deadly
bacteria that will eventually kill it’s
intended prey.
7. Making Tracks
You would find these tracks in
Indonesia. They look like they’re
dragon foot prints.

In Indonesia a few islands have
Komodo Dragons.
10. Did You Know
The Komodo Dragon is the largest
lizard in the world! In the wild, there
are four times as many male
Dragons then there are female
Dragons.
A Komodo Dragon goes through
four or five sets of teeth in a life
time.
