Knee Surgery: A brief Look

surgery. Questions abound
in your head as to what is
needed, what will happen
and the like. This is perfectly
normal. One thing that many
do not consider is the
recovery period from knee
surgery. Before we get to

at some common surgeries.
1. Bilateral Knee Replacement – This is the most major of all surgeries.
The surgeon(s) replace both knees at one time.
2. ACL – Anterior Cruciate Ligament – This is for knee stabilization when a

1. Pre-surgery instructions – This is important for you, your safety
and the best surgery possible. Questions should be shared with the
physician.
2. Caring for the site – Post healing means avoiding infection and
helping the incision heal fast. Pay attention to all instructions.
3. Pain management – You may have some medications to take. Take
them according to the orders.
