As I mentioned above, SAP B1 has a complete set of modules for a company to use and
automate their processes. From basic Sales & Purchasing, to Service and Production or even
HR, the continuous interaction with this software and its implementation to various clients, has
offered valuable operational and management skills. I am grateful for my time here and I hope
my input was as valuable as the output I received.
SAP LTD : Sales & Marketing Operations Internship 2015
Having spent 3 years in my previous company, I was in search for a global challenge that
would allow me to easily migrate from Cyprus to another EU country (for personal reasons).
Having spent a couple of months researching and planning my next steps, I managed to enter
in a 3-6 months internship at a company who is a global leader in its industry. I knew the size
of the company beforehand, but still was amazed at the culture and level of professionalism
that flows through it. Even though I did not need to acquire any experience for my career, my
time in this company has showed me how different things are in the big leagues. My duties
where simple for my level in theory, but when put into perspective of the operations of a
company with this size, it feels special. I wish my financial situation was different, so that I
could see my internship through. Nevertheless I am happy with my time here, as apart for the
personal development, it allowed me to complete this phase of my plan.
MEFAL LTD : Warehouse Operations Supervisor 2011-14
Now in control with an updated role of being the warehouse supervisor. My duties included
implementing the new WMS (SAP) which was new to all employees, coordinating the various
factions which compose the effective picking of orders and their on-time delivery, as well as
new stock receipt and put-away. The warehouse team was small in numbers, so it was a
strong challenge to organize the functions in a manner that could be as effective and
productive as possible as well as to pull of the extra challenge I placed on myself – to make
the procedures as automated as possible in a highly dynamic work environment. That would
increase the productivity of the employees ensuring that no time would be lost when moving
from one task to another. I managed to implement a number of alterations and improvements
to the original framework designed by Planning Ltd, thus making the operation far more
productive and reducing errors to a bare minimum. The warehouse and distribution
department is considered to be the best in the sector in terms of productivity and
effectiveness.

What began as a simple job to keep me busy, turn out as an excellent company, with the
foundation to grow into one of the industry leaders. Although my tasks were pretty simple,
during the company’s transformation period and its move to the new distribution center, I was
involved deeply into the main functions that took place and my inputs were taken under
consideration. I really enjoyed my time there and gained some valuable experiences. Although
brief in words, the company and my time there are held in high regards and provided a
platform for me as my interaction with Planning Consultants opened a lot of doors and
pathways for my future career.

I was offered a position in the sales team in Nicosia. I was the youngest ever sales person in
the company and the only one to make the jump from delivery to sales. A big part was

because of the fact that I study Marketing at the University of Nicosia and the very positive
feelings that the various Sales Managers held about me. I took the opportunity to step up the
ranks of the company. I wasn’t surprised by the amount of responsibilities I was given, I was
well prepared and coped with it very well. My involvement in this department of the company
gave the opportunity to see how the whole company works. Through my daily interaction with
client from the salesman perspective, I managed to build trust and reliability between myself
and them. Given the fact that I had two people working under me, a merchandiser and a
delivery, I also developed my coordination and task-allocation skills. I had the chance to work
at every level of the sales department and that gave me an edge regarding the way that I
organize my affairs. The fact that I had to divide my time between college and work, proved to
be a challenge though I coped with it very well. I planned and implemented a timetable,
prioritize and put deadlines on all the tasks that I had to do. Multitasking is something one
must excel to in this line of work.

After getting enough experience as a delivery assistant, I was given the chance of performing
routes on my own. Because of my extended experience as an assistant where I got to know
routes in every city in Cyprus, I wasn’t given a specific route, but I had obtained a “joker”
status. This meant that I would substitute in for any driver that was absent from work or unable
to take on his route, therefore I travelled on any route all around Cyprus. I had to be flexible
and adaptable because I was always given very short notice on which route I would take and
when. That gave me the opportunity to get to know the departments of the company in every
region and also the different way each region works. I interacted with very many people (our
clients) from different areas on a daily basis, and this helped me develop excellent
communication skills. By showing respect and always negotiating in case of a disagreement, I
made sure the client was always happy in the end. In this way I managed to build excellent
relationships with many people, which made my job even more exciting.

I was part of the warehouse staff; we prepared any incoming orders so they can be delivered.
We had to work fast, efficiently and effectively because we only had a limited amount of time
to load the delivery van. Depending on the workload, I also travelled with the delivery men and
assisted with the delivery of the products. Being part of that team helped me understand how
the company works, as well as develop my ability to work well under pressure.
