Project Title: Process Improvement in Material Handling.
Duration: Two months
Details:
Studied the fabrication process for HT 150*150*12 (Angels) tower by process mapping
technique. I have mainly find out the low efficiency in the plate cutting machine by applying the
different technique like lean management, fish bone diagram & 5 why .The main focus of this
project is on the reduction of process time, manpower and minimise the waste. This is done by
recommend to increase the number of conveyer belt and use of electromagnet.
Second focus of this project is to improve the scrap handling. By reducing the waste
handling labour it’s possible to utilise this labour in other processes .This can be done by simply
introducing the trolley down to the machine.
Role and Responsibilities:
 Studied the fabrication process and finding the pitfalls in the process
 Applying different techniques like lean manufacturing, fish bone diagram and 5 why for finding
the root cause of these problems.
 Analysis of Time, Distance and Manpower used in the process.
 Interpretation of the results.
Achievements:
 Increase the efficiency of cutting the plate by 30%.
 Reduction process time by 15 min which leads to decrease in lead time.
 More efficient utilisation of work force i.e. reduction of labour from 3 to 1.
 Reduced the travelling distance of plate from 232 to 142 meters.
 Proper disposal of waste.
Graduation Internship:
Company: Airport Authority of India, Nagpur.
Duration: 15th June 2011 to 14th July 2011

passenger. We use RS232 protocol for serial communication between GSM modem and
microcontroller and a LCD display for displaying of longitude and latitude.
Role and Responsibilities:
 Coding in microcontroller with the help of micro keil software.
 Implementing the hardware.
 Interpretation of the result.
Results:
 Providing the real time location of the vehicle.
 Saving time of the people or reducing the inconvenience of the passenger.
 To provide protection to the vehicle.
