Kidspiration is a cross-curricular and multi-grade level program that allows students to create story maps, flow charts, outlines, and other graphic organizers. It provides pre-made activities and templates that teachers can use or customize. Students can work in Picture View to create visual representations and then switch to Writing View to develop associated outlines. Work can be exported and published to other programs. The program is expandable and customizable by both its pre-made and teacher-created content.

Remaining Relevant in a Social Learning Environment
Remaining relevant in an increasingly social learning context presents great opportunities for instructional designers. The challenges lie in adapting sound design principals to new modes of learning and acquiring the additional skills to bring value to social learning environments.
The role of the professional ID is changing, but learners’ needs are not. On October 11, 2012, my partner, Tracy Bissette, and I spoke about this topic for the eLearning Guild in their eLearning Top Trends series, an Online Forum presentation. Our presentation is titled “Remaining Relevant in a Social Learning Environment,” and in it we look at emerging distributed training models, how a shift towards social learning will impact professional IDs, how to facilitate and support social learning, and how to carve your niche in a decentralized learning function.

SVA Portfolios are powered by Behance and allow students to showcase and get feedback on their work. The Flipped Classroom model uses technology to provide dynamic learning tools for teachers to improve education quality. Lynda.com offers free video tutorials for software through SVA accounts. SharePoint provides a faculty tab and space for classes. The Office of Learning Technologies provides support and is located on the 9th floor of 136 West 21st St.
Web 2.0 Tools to Enhance Student Learning
To kick off the start of the term I was asked to present at a neighbouring school on "Online tools to enhance student learning". Whilst this at first appears to be a very ambiguous topic, it was aimed at teachers who are looking to add a couple more things to their arsenal and get fired up with a few trends in educational technology.
Google apps
Google Apps is a collection of communication and collaboration applications provided by Google including Docs, Calendar, Gmail, Contacts, Chat, Sites, and Video. The Education Edition provides these applications for free to students and teachers. It allows sharing of documents, websites, and calendars within a school domain. Successful implementation requires leadership, support, reliability, and developing a vision for how the tools can enhance communication, creativity, and collaboration beyond just being technology tools.

Add apps to google drive

Sharing in google drive
To share a Google document, click the blue share button and select the privacy settings for general sharing of the document. You can then choose who can access the document by selecting individuals and their access level as an editor, commenter or viewer. Additional options include controlling who else can share the document and adding a message to recipients.
Images in google drive
To insert an image into a document, go to Insert->Image which allows you to select from recent images, upload images from your computer, or add images from Google Drive. The image search feature lets you search the web for images from Google, Life, or Stock photos by typing keywords or filtering by image type or color. You can also copy and paste the URL of an image to directly insert it from the web.
Clip art in google drive
This document provides a 7 step process for accessing and searching for clip art within a software program. It instructs the user to select Add-Ons from the file menu, then search for and select the Openclipart add-on to allow access to a clip art library where images can be searched.
Fonts in google drive
To add or remove fonts on your computer, open the font menu at the bottom of your screen, select "More Fonts" to see a list of installed fonts, then click on fonts to add them or click the x button to remove fonts from your current selection. Removed fonts can be re-added to your font menu later if desired.
Avery labels in google drive
To install and use the Avery Label Merge add-on, search for and install the Avery add-on from the Get Add-ons menu, give permission for it to access your Drive, then access the add-on from the Add-Ons menu and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new merge.
Digital Portfolios Using Weebly
Weebly allows teachers to create student accounts and class pages to help students build personalized websites. Teachers can add students individually or in bulk, set privacy settings for the class page, and monitor student progress. Students can then login, choose a subdomain, drag-and-drop elements to build out pages, upload files, organize their site into subjects, customize designs, and publish their site for others to view.
Presentation Tools
Haiku Deck is a simple presentation tool that allows users to create slides with text styles, layouts, and other elements with just a few taps. It features built-in image search and the ability to import images. Presentations can be shared online.
Google Drive Split Page Tutorial

significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and

- 4. Using the Activities • Kidspiration comes with a variety of pre-made activities in several different subject areas. • You can add templates to the Activities area by downloading pre-made templates from the web or by creating your own.
- 5. Picture View • Create story maps, flow charts, and outlines • Use SuperGroupers to create Venn Diagrams and other sorting activities • Add pictures from the Library, or import graphics saved on your hard drive • Add text boxes
