Kidblog is a free blogging platform for teachers and students created in 2007. It allows for book reviews, classroom discussions, sharing work for comments, math problems, goal setting, and journaling while requiring teacher approval of all posts and comments for safety. However, content can be edited after approval so monitoring is needed to prevent inappropriate additions later. There are currently no fees but the long-term business model is uncertain. Communication with parents and administrators about guidelines and safety is important.

During the GRA in October, students can read from one of four book options and then discuss and collaborate with other students online or through letters. The GRA allows students to practice 21st century skills like connecting over networks and collaborating at a distance. It also benefits teachers by allowing them to network with other professionals and learn digital tools and literacy. Common technologies used include Edmodo, Kidblog, Google Drive, Skype and Twitter.

Norma Jordan proposes several ideas to improve Lillian Valley School including updating the website, implementing online curriculum and testing programs, and pursuing grant funding. Specifically, she suggests adding student activities, test prep resources, alumni profiles, and school performance data to the website. She also recommends the Scantron Performance Series and Study Island programs to provide individualized instruction and practice. Finally, she proposes researching federal grants and contacting other Native American schools for funding ideas to help meet the goals of No Child Left Behind.
