Michele Anthony is an Executive Vice President at Universal Music Group. Previously, she was President and COO of Sony Music Label Group US, where she oversaw day-to-day operations. She has over 20 years of experience in the music industry. Anthony founded her own consulting firm that represented artists like Pearl Jam and Prince. She is also on the board of the Global Poverty Project and chairs their initiative to donate concert tickets to end global poverty.

The Music Industry Leader I chose was Michele Anthony - Executive VP for
Universal Music Group is who she currently works for in the music/film industry.
In 2006, Anthony was President and Chief Operating Officer of the Sony Music
Label Group U.S. where she oversaw the day-to-day management and operations
of the company’s labels. Before Sony Music, Ms. Anthony was a partner in the
Graduate of University of Southern California Law School.
Michele is just such an inspiration for me I want to be just like her in the industry.

Michele Anthony’s Greatest Accomplishments
For almost twenty years, Michele has been named one of the top women in entertainment
in Hollywood. She most recently founded 7H Entertainment, a consulting and
management firm whose clients included Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath & Ozzy Osbourne,
Prince, Björk and Soundgarden. Michele also chairs the Global Poverty Project (GPP) –
Global Citizen Tickets Initiative, a campaign whereby major artists donate concert tickets
that are earned when users take specified actions to end global poverty. She also is an
advisor for GPP’s Annual Central Park Global Citizen Festival every year.

Michele does not have any big business failures that I could find. She does
represent many artists as you can see in the previous answer. I looked many
places to find anything related to her biggest failures and could not find anything
on her failures. Michele Anthony has none apparently. I have thoroughly looked
all over the web and could not find the information requested.

What I have learned about Michele Anthony Accomplishments/failures
.I have learned of her love of music made her compelled to get into the music and
movie industry. Because she has no known failures I cannot give a learned
objective to this question. Her achievements are very spectacular from graduating
from a prestigious college of law to VP of Universal Studios. She thoroughly
enjoys what she does.

What Leadership qualities does Michele Anthony have?
I feel Michele has had a great deal of resilience she has overcome any changes
thrown her way. As a child in the 1960’s she grew up around her dad, Dee
Anthony, who managed artists such as Peter Frampton and Tony Bennett whom
she helped. She works hard, and it shows in such bands as Pearl jam. Michele
also very transparent to her co-workers and artists, she is an activist and believes
in helping the common man. She met Hugh Evans, who started the Global
Poverty Project with the goal of ending extreme poverty through Pearl Jam’s
Manager, Kelly Curtis. I also believe she has empathy and passion due to her
activism. An example of her activism is, when she was on the Board of Directors
at Sony, the company had created the software to age abducted children for the
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children which she was a part of helping
to create.

Michele Anthony’s Perspective vs Consumers’ Perspective
How might your leader’s perspective of media and entertainment products be
different from the average fan or consumer? As Michele Anthony would say “I'm
also a child of music, and music has always been an instrument of change." She
is always thinking of new concepts for the average consumers. From her
perspective it’s not necessarily about the numbers but about protecting the artist.
The Oscar that Peter Allen gave her father. quoting Peter Allen. “When I think of
protecting artists, that’s what this is for.” And she believes that to this day.
She thoroughly loves her job. I feel she would be concerned with the branding of
the artist and if that brand matches the label’s idea. It is her job to make sure the
artist is properly marketed product and individual. Whereas, the consumer is more
concerned with the music and its quality. As the consumers’ do not work behind
the scenes so they do not know what it takes to be able to produce good music.
