2. What is the Role of this School ?
• In these modern times schools often appear to have forgotten
the basics of education: reading, writing, arithmetic. Our school
provides the core subject areas in an academically-rigorous
setting.
• The foundational subject areas provide the essential elements all
students will need to be productive citizens in their lives.
• The school serves the role of providing skills all children will need
to progress through the grades to graduation and college level
work.
• Our school provides assurance to parents that their children will
be learning the necessary core subject skills they will need in life.

3. Purpose of Education at Your
Hometown School
• The teacher-centered environment at Your Hometown School
provides students the focus they need to learn and be able to
recite and demonstrate their learning upon request.
• The education of our youth is critical and our school provides the
foundation they will need to be prepared for the workforce and
to be productive, contributing citizens when they reach of-age.
• Children are held to a high-level of self-discipline,and respect
for adults and each other and in so practicing these things are
expected to uphold the school’s excellent reputation in the
community.

4. Rules/ Rituals
• Students are expected to adhere to the following rules:
• Arrive each day on time to partake in flag raising ceremony, pledge,
and morning school song and daily announcements
• Wear school uniform as required
• No gum or candy at school
• No foul language or actions, which includes a zero tolerance for
physical violence of any kind
• Homework and assignments are due on time unless extreme
circumstances exist
• Individual class teachers post rules in their class and these are
expected to be followed by all students as well

5. Extracurricular Activities
• Activities are available afterschool and occasionally during homeroom
time as requested for special meetings by the teacher leading the
group/activity
• Activities/ Clubs include: Student Government, Debate Team,
Mathletes, Newspaper, Yearbook, and Fundraising Committee
• Some parents have inquired about the absence of sports and in
response we believe that students have enough opportunity outside of
school to participate in these activities and at Your Hometown School
we strive to provide opportunities for students to expand on their
academic learning in the activities they are active in afterschool as
well as focus on the importance of contributing to the school
community and enhancing skills important for future success

6. Equal Educational Opportunity
• Our school serves students regardless of race, gender, ability, or
other condition that may be present.
• Special needs and English as a second language learners are
provided the neseccary accomodations to succeed in our
academically-rigorous school as well as in accordance with
state and federal regulations

8. Physical Environment at Our School
• Each age group holds class in their own classroom set-up with the
supplies for their curriculum
• Classrooms are set-up with desks facing the front of the room where
the teacher’s desk is located. This not only assures student focus on the
teacher during lessons but assures the teacher can keep an eye on all
students during work time.
• Classroom materials including books, pencils, paper, and other
essentials are located on shelving at the edge of each classroom.
• Located in the back of the room is a table for doing group study and
other group lessons such as science demonstrations.
• The colors and decoration of classrooms is kept at a neutral tone and
limited in order to avoid distraction and over-stimulation of the
students.
