make a settlement and worship the self-existent light what is believed in Swayambhunath now. He cut the
Chobhar gorge by a divine sword. After draining it became habitable land.
Next myth mentions, two hundred thousand years ago it was a lake and 31 thousand years ago it drained
by the tectonic reason. Kantipur is an ancient name. Kasthamandap (wooden pavilion) is built by a single
sal tree in the 12th century that obtained its name (Kath-wood and Mandu-temple). Shivapuri (2732 m) in
north, Phulchowki (2765 m) in southeast, Champa Devi (2250m) in the southwest, Nagarjun (2097 m) in
the north-west, Kakani (1982 m) to northwest, Pokhari Thumko (2005 m) in the southeast and
Bhaleswore Danda (2561 m) in the southwest are the wooded hill.
Kathmandu has a tropical monsoon climate, warm temperate monsoon climate, and cool temperate

Newar is an ancient inhabitant and an ethnic group who has own culture, language, tradition, festival and
dress. Four million people with a mixed community live there. There are 0.6 million motorbikes, half
million vehicles in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur district. There are several universities, numerous
colleges, schools, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, casinos, bars, discotheques, massage centers,
hospital, and factories. This might be a beautiful city if town planning. It seems a concrete jungle and lack
of infrastructure.
