This document discusses systems archetypes and visualizing systems. It introduces several systems archetypes including balancing, reinforcing, delays, limits to success, shifting the burden, tragedy of the commons, and commons buffers. Diagrams are provided to illustrate each archetype and how changing one element in a system can impact other elements. The document emphasizes that in order to influence systems, one must be able to see and measure what is occurring in the system.
