The Quabbin Regional High School Organic Garden has been operating since 2008. It keeps tons of organic material out of the waste stream each year while getting food directly to students and introducing them to real flavors. The garden's mission is to protect the environment through sustainable agriculture practices and encouraging recycling and composting in the community. It creates value-added products like herbal salves and braided shallots to sell at farmers markets, and also works with UMass Medical School interns and the community.
