It is a well-known fact that Design Sprint is a very good technique – wonderful perhaps – but something incomplete (at least in its conception), that is for two reasons, 1.- it only allows you to concentrate on a single flow of a single product (what is not always optimal depending on the time and environment), and 2.- it facilitates you to fall into many inconsistencies that can end up affecting your entire UX process.
YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN:
* Ways to solve defects caused by focusing on a single flow of a single product
* What are the most common inconsistencies and possible ways to solve each of them
* Show a real case (my particular case) about how Sprint Design can be inserted in a UX macro process
Design Your Day ebook - Nokia - #SmarterEverydayNokia
This book is about a powerful idea: making the choice to design your day so that you can perform at your best.
There are many productivity and time-management models out there - and we list many of the good ones in part one of the ebook - but there is no single model that fits everyone. Different brain types suit different working styles and different productivity systems. We’re not advocating any particular scheme, just a framework that makes the most of them and helps you to choose the right approach for designing your day.

D.school's design thinking process mode guideGeoffrey Dorne
The document provides an overview of the design thinking process, which includes the key modes of Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. It describes each mode in terms of what it is, why it is important, and how to execute it. The Empathize mode involves understanding users through observation and engagement to gain insights. Define is about synthesizing research to craft a problem statement. Ideate is the generation of ideas. Prototype creates artifacts to test ideas. Test gets feedback on prototypes from users.
During the Start-up module of Hyper Island we worked together as a start-up team for a period of 6 weeks to explore and launch our idea. This deck includes our reflection of the entire journey and the start-up idea.
The fields of remote collaboration, global teams and managing wide-scale organizational change are becoming common place. Nancy Settle-Murphy appeared on the Business901 Podcast, Spanning the Globe for Team Success to discuss some of key components needed to lead these teams. This is a transcription of the podcast.
PILOT User Research and UX Design Solutions Report David Delgadø
For my final project at General Assembly, I had the opportunity to work with PILOT, a turn-key solution that enables organizations to retain their best people. I was tasked with creating an experience that encouraged, enabled, and held users accountable to the career goals they laid out for themselves in their initial job health assessment. At the conclusion of the project, I was hired by PILOT to implement the solution I proposed and be a key member of the product development team.

Seven pitfalls to avoid in online collaborationJon Kennedy
The document discusses seven pitfalls to avoid when starting online collaboration. It notes that while the basics of clear purpose, organization, roles, etc. usually get addressed, there are seven key issues often overlooked that are critical for success. These include: providing context, involving additional stakeholders, asking team members what they want, setting up a multi-mode communication plan, starting simply and keeping initial focus narrow, making explicit team agreements, and assigning responsibilities for specific work areas. The document argues that addressing these seven issues is important to set online collaborations up for effective work when members are dispersed.
The Little Blue Book On Scheduling 10 31 08guest4b9ec9a
This document is the introduction to "The Little Blue Book on Scheduling" which discusses the limitations of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for scheduling and planning needs, especially for make-to-order manufacturers. The author realized ERP systems could not do everything expected after reading "The Goal" and resigned from an ERP company to help companies overcome ERP scheduling limitations. While ERPs are still needed, the author believes scheduling software modules can provide powerful long term benefits by addressing problems like poor customer service, late deliveries, and lost clients. The book will explain ERP limitations and solutions without needing to replace the existing ERP system.
This document discusses management by walking around (MBWA) and its application in virtual environments. It begins with a brief history of MBWA, noting that it was originally used at HP to boost morale but evolved into a technique where managers visit employees to discover and address problems early. While effective, MBWA has limitations in virtual environments where managers cannot physically visit employees. Some workarounds used today include collaborative documents but they lack the spontaneity of real-time face-to-face interactions that make MBWA most impactful. The document explores what a "virtual world MBWA" might entail to continue providing its benefits of visibility, control and optimization in distributed teams.

A non designeris guide to creating memorable visual slides.
If you’re like most people, you’ve probably created dozens of presentations in your lifetime, and many of these in just under a few hours. But ask yourself: Do you really know how to design a memorable presentation that will stick in your viewers’ minds for months, even years to come?
The answer is probably no. Most of us have never actually learned the design principles necessary to impact audiences through visual storytelling. Perhaps the closest we have ever come to crafting a visual message is a PowerPoint presentation full of bullet points, overused stock photos and bland color schemes.
But these kinds of presentations rarely inspire real change, especially in this new age of visual communication.
The survey summarizes feedback from a program called "The Alliance". Most participants strongly agreed that the program objectives were clear and the content was relevant. Some feedback included that the exercises could have been longer to allow for more in-depth discussions. Most participants planned to have career conversations with their direct reports applying the program's framework. The presentation was well received although one presenter was seen as less engaging than the other. Overall the program was seen as beneficial for learning how to develop intentional career discussions, although some felt it needed more context on how it will be implemented at the company.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
