The Dobson Centre is the entrepreneurship department within the Desautels Faculty of Management at 
McGill. Along with offering entrepreneurship classes, the biggest annual event of the centre is the McGill 
Dobson Cup (MDC), a start-up competition for entrepreneurs from all faculties. 
Mandate 
JED was re-hired by the McGill Dobson Centre after successfully completing a project in Fall 2013. 
For this project, the initial task was to increase McGill Dobson Cup awareness by 60%, and find a 
volunteer to join the Dobson Centre team. 
Action Plan 
Analyzed communication channels and built contact list including:! 
‣ Name and organization! 
‣ Contact info through email, phone! 
‣ Webpage and social media information! 
‣ Information about contact history! 
‣ Advertisement services offered ! ! Through:!

Developed short-term social media and email plan leading to the 2014 Dobson Cup.! !‣ 
Developed strategy to hire new volunteers. This was achieved through a guided implementation

JED was successful in helping increase participation by 84% for the 2014 Dobson Cup.! ! The Dobson Centre received 12 full applications (most recent number reported) for volunteering
