The Department of Education ( DepEd) is
one with the President in his non-
negotiable commitment for the health and
safety of our learners, teachers, and staff.
It is the first and most important principle
of our Basic-Education-Learning Continuity
Plan (BE-LCP) which details learning
opportunities in the time of COVID-19.

opportunities to our students, without
requiring them to come to school.
The Distance Learning is consistent with
the President’s preference that we do
not send our children to school until
safe to do so.

Distance Learning Modality
 Lessons will be delivered to the
students in the comfort and
safety of their homes, through
the following methods:
 Printed or digital modules
delivered to the homes of the
students, or picked up by their
parents at designated places,
within the coordinated
schedules;
 Online learning resources such
as DepEd Commons; and
 Television or radio-based
instruction.

ASSUMPTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Students and teachers have access to
internet.
• Student and teachers have
laptops/desktops or mobile phones.
• Student are oriented about the chosen
online platform.
CONSIDERATIONS:
• Expenses for the delivery of online learning
support for data and electricity.
• Number of household members sharing in
the devices, laptop/desktop.
DELIVERY OUTLINE
SAMPLE
INSTRUCTION
The teacher uploads
instructional
materials, i.e. videos
or readings in the
chosen platform
which the students
may study for a
particular day.
DISCUSSION
The teacher should
set up a discussion
with guide questions
where the students
can discuss about
the lesson.
ACTIVITY
Worksheets will be
uploaded for the
students to work on
independently. The
teacher should be
available for
consultation.

Preschool- 60 minutes/day;
Kindergarten to Grade 2: 90 minutes/day;
Grades 3 to 5 - 120 minutes/day;
Grades 6 to 8 - 180 minutes/day; and
Grades 9 to 12 - 270 minutes/day. Student
engagement can be broken down to 5 to 15-
minute long activities depending on their age

Modular Distance Learning( MDL)
PRINTED MODULES refer to competency-specific materials that cover the key
elements of a lesson, from motivation, instruction, to assessment.
Printed modules are prepared for learners who have limited access or have
absolutely NO ACCESS to internet and digital device.
HOW PRINTED MODULES CAN BE
USED
Teachers
distribute modules
at the start of the
month.
Parents will guide
learners as they
read through the
module. They can
also consult with
the teachers via
SMS.
During the week,
parents will take
note of which
strategies worked
and what support
they still need for
modular learning.
The teachers will
arrange to collect
the outputs of the
students every
end of the week.
