Joshua Good
66Fit
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION
Bringing a fresh approach to marketing
fitness equipment, I developed an
illustrative style, combined with studio
photography to highlight key muscle
groups activated when using the range
of 66fit products.
I developed the interactive
3600
component of the website,
allowing users to see the products
being used in 3600
.
This was executed by filming the
talent on a 3600
spinning stage,
while performing exercises. I
used a 4k Black Magic Camera
for animation + DLSR for stills.
The 4k was utilized as a
backup to pull images for
print if necessary.
SKILLS4
STEM
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION
Skills4
Stem will bring the Guinness World
Record to Britain in the Spring of 2017 by
designing and building a unique
37-metre tall Lego® tower.
Hosted in the city of Cambridge UK,
I developed conceptual pieces for the
project, including a giant Lego® hand
reaching into the sky.
BINDI IRWIN
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION / ANIMATION
Working with Best Picture Show’s
John Stainton, I developed the title
sequence and broadcast graphics for
Bindi the Jungle Girl and
Bindi Kitfitness. Bindi Irwin is best
known as the daughter of the late
Steve Irwin, AKA,
the Crocodile Hunter.
Bindi the Jungle Girl series titles
consisted of a series of paintings
I had created and offset in 3D to
move through them to reveal
Bindi in this world.
My contributions were
nominated for the 2008 Day-
time Emmy Awards in
competition with Sesame
Street, Disney’s Winnie the
Pooh, Wordworld and
Mama Mirrabelle.
FREELANCE
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION
Working throughout Australia, the United
Kingdom, and Canada, I had the
privilege of working on a variety of
successful and enjoyable projects over
the past decade.
Projects include :
Stayfree Graffiti TV commercial and
print mock-posters such as
The Bert Locker (inspired by
Kathryn Bigelow’s oscar winning
film, The Hurt Locker) featured on
this page.
THE HOG
WHISPERER
CREATOR
Commissioned by Australian Bush Poet,
Murray Hartin, to create an animation
based on one of his more popular
poems, The Hog Whisperer.
I flew to Sydney for a live action
shoot on green screen stage at
Engine Studios. It was in this
studio where the talent would be
rotoscoped and inserted into the
cartoon world of the
Hog Whisperer. All the assets
were created in 3D and
painted over to give the ability
for small camera moves.
I was responsible for the
entire project including
concepts, character design,
animation, backgrounds,
editing, sound, and
music.
J.R. SaNDERS
BRANDING / ILLUSTRATION
I was approached to bring independant
Author, J.R. Sander’s controversial book
to the Australian market.
The brief included a stylized Parisian
feel which included book cover
illustration and design, a simple, yet
engaging website, pull-up banners
for the launch, business cards and
preliminary social media strategies.
MEADOW LEA
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION
My first foray into Television Commercials,
I was asked to take 3D elements created
by Alex Mcleod and convert them into
illustrated matte painted backgrounds
for a 3D cow and canola plant to be
composited.
The grass was created and rendered
as fur, the plants were particle
instances, and the house was
simple geometric shapes.
INTRASONICS
CREATOR
Audio watermarking technology
company Intrasonics (based in
Cambridge, England) needed a visual
tool to explain the complexities of their
product to clients more easily.
Through a series of animations
inspired by the futuristic world of
Hanna Barbera’s The Jetsons,
the animation explains audio
watermarking ...
“By modulating artificial echoes
we can encode data bits into the
audio content. Each individual
audio watermark is an echo
sequence that occupies a
short section of the audio
and carries a fixed number
of bits. We call the bit
sequence an audio code.”
FREELANCE
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION
A commissioned artwork, the
dragonfly (opposite) was my first attempt
at drawing using reference photography
and enhancing my photorealistic
skills. The final artwork was
a digital print on large mounted
canvas.
As part of a sophisticated
infographic for internal
presentation at an advertising
agency in U.K, this illustration
(left) was based on Alice in
Wonderland’s White Rabbit. It
was animated to show project
management and timeframes
on creative projects.
GOLDLINQ
DIRECTION / PROJECT LEAD
As part of the 2018 Commonwealth
Games planning, the Gold Coast City
Council and State Government had
proposed a significant upgrade to the
transport infrastructure of the city.
The $1.6 billion dollar project
commenced in 2010 and is expected
to be completed by 2018.
During the period of displacement
and construction, the Consortium
commissioned a photorealistic
visualization of the finished proj-
ect to use as a marketing tool to
assist in informing the public.
I was responsible for
overseeing the project by
directing, filming and
compositing the elements.
dCS AUDIO
CREATOR
dCS Audio has a long and prestigeous
history of pioneering the way for Digital
Audio Conversion and maintaining the
highest standards possible.
From their beginning in developing
radar technology for Harrier Jets, to
installing the first digital conversion
systems for the BBC in London, dCS
is recognized as a benchmark in the
industry.
For the dCS website, a video
animation was commissioned to
show the timeline of dCS from
its military origins through to
its present day audio
products.
I created the look,
storyboards, animation and
music for this project.
h2
0 TV SERIES
ART DIRECTION / MATTE PAINTING / DESIGN
Involved at the beginning of this
Jonathan M. Shiff project, I worked
with VFX Producer Barry Lanfranchi
to develop the world of
H2
0 - Just add water.
I designed the title sequence and
scene transitions as well as the matte
painted environments of Mako
Island and the Moon Pool Cave.
I also composited and created a
number of visual effects for
the show.
The H2
0 - Just add water series
has won a number of
Australian and international
awards and has a number of
spin-offs including Mako
Mermaids and a Netflix®
animated series.
MITSUBISHI
ELECTRIC
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION / COMPOSITING
A fantastic project to work on, this was
my first collaboration with Michael
Gracey and Peter Commins to create
a look for Mitsubishi’s new air condi-
tioning campaign.
The premise was to show different
climates / seasons by projecting
imagery onto the skin of male and
female models.
I designed the concept art and
projections for the models as
well as VFX supervision for the
shoot, and creating the assets
for post production.

Here is an example of the initial
concept art for the campaign

PRYSM
ART DIRECTION / ANIMATION
To showcase the huge touch screen
displays developed by Prysm, I was
commissioned by The Distillery (Santa
Cruz, California) to develop an
animated scenario for actors to appear
to be interacting with the display for
use while filming a Prysm TV
commercial.
EBM PAPST
ART DIRECTION / PROTOTYPE
The development of a web application
(app) which allows the user to see how
airflow circulates through the office
environment and regulates
temperature and noise levels, using the
ebm-papst airflow systems.
ebm-papst uses smoke in its airflow
demonstrations displayed in
showrooms. The intention of the
app is to present concepts to
clients without it being necessary
to travel to showroom locations.
ZACTRAN
CREATOR
Zactran requested a sophisticated
marketing tool to replace their print
brochure. They visualized implementing
an interactive application to engage
clients with their content on a tablet or
computer offline.
The solution I developed was a web
app which stored content
locally and did not require any
installation since it can be viewed
in any web browser.
Zactran sales reps stored the
web app on their tablets
(not requiring internet
connection) and they could
save it on USB.
CONCEPTS
ART DIRECTION / ILLUSTRATION

game (left below).
