SPECIFIC PURPOSE
• To true up stock. That is you can
straighten, smooth, square up and size
boards
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
1. Always, Always, Always use a push
block or stick.
2. Never joint END GRAIN.
3. Keep your hands on top of the stock &
NEVER pass them to over the cutter
head. Cutter head must always be
guarded.
Specific Safety Con’t
4. Stock must be at least ½”x 2”x 12” to
machine.
5. Never allow fingers any closer than 5” to
the cutter head. Keep on top of work and
out of the “danger zone”.
6. Feed stock firmly into the cutter head at
a constant rate removing a maximum cut
of 1/8” during each pass.
Specific Safety Con’t
7. Stand left, Never behind the jointer.
8. Turn off before making any adjustments

• Area directly over the rotating cutter head.
Keep hands 5” away.

STRAIGHTEN an EDGE.
How to FLATTEN a FACE
1. Use a push block and both hands to apply
downwards pressure on the stock against the
in feed table. CUP SIDE DOWN
2. As stock passes over the cutter head, move
one hand to the out feed table and apply
pressure to finish cut.
3. Push stock all the way over the cutter head
until the guard closes.
How to STRAIGHTEN an EDGE
1. Put the smooth face of the stock against the
fence.
2. Apply downwards pressure against the infeed
table and sideways pressure against the fence.
3. Using a push stick feed the edge of the stock
across the cutter head to the out feed table.
4. Push stock all the way over the cutter head
until the guard closes.
