2. Express Yourself – Question F
You have just participated in an important meeting
with your superior. How will you ensure that every
part of the instructions you received will properly
reach all subordinates, suppliers and clients, located
in different parts of the world?
3. Step 1: Stakeholder Analysis
Identify my stakeholders (in this case my
subordinates, my suppliers and my clients)
Prioritize my stakeholders – Identify who will have
the influence (from great to low) to what I am doing
Understand my key stakeholders – Know the needs
of each individual group or even individual person
within the same group so that expectations from
different stakeholders can be addressed and
managed.
4. Step 2: Setup a Communication Plan
Understand my objectives - Be clear about what I
would like to communicate
Understand my audiences – List out all the
audiences based on the result of my stakeholder
analysis
Use appropriate channels and messages – Different
group of people may need different types of
messages and channels considering all the
stakeholders are located in different parts of the
world
5. Step 3: Implement the Communication Plan
Deliver every part of the instructions I received from
my superior according to the communication plan I
set up in Step 2 like the following format

6. Step 4: Getting Feedback
Get feedbacks from different group of people to
check if they understand my messages (in this case
“instructions”)
Encourage people to seek clarification from me to
ensure we are all on the same page.
Feedback will also help me to improve my future
communication plan
7. Last but not least……..
Depending on the situation, sometimes it is good to
have an informal meeting/discussion with the key
stakeholders before a formal communication to a
wider audiences to gain early support/agreement
