Pilate made multiple legal, religious, and emotional appeals to release Jesus from crucifixion, finding him innocent, but ultimately passed the sentence due to pressure from Jewish religious leaders. Jesus remained calm and focused on inviting people to trust in him despite facing great injustice and cruelty, including being scourged and condemned to death. Through his death, Jesus conquered sin and death, providing salvation for humanity.
"Go boldly forth!" (EG261) says Pope Francis, and we can do this in our parish community - but where do we start? The power of taking action in our local community to reach out to meet those who are poor, vulnerable and oppressed and discover Christ in them is an inspiring for every person who experiences this. Jesus Christ and Pope Francis inspire us with examples of being "border-crossers" of going to 'the margins' of society and loving those we meet. We can follow their example, and doing so as a parish community is a transformational experience of God's evangelising love for the world. In this workshop you will explore how to engage with your local community, the practical steps of beginning a local outreach program and gain an understanding how your Catholic parishioners can grow in their faith through taking action in your community with people and families who are in need of support.

This message is Part 2 in Pastor Chuck Bernal's series, "JESUS is _____________". The message is titled, "JESUS is an Outlawl". Pastor Chuck discusses how Jesus turned the religious establishment of the day upside down and by doing so was branded as a Loose lawbreaker, an Offensive Outlaw, a Radical Rebel and a Disruptive dissident - all because he was the LORD. Using the stories from the Gospel of John as a backdrop, Pastor Chuck helps us discover who Jesus really is - and it's not what we usually think. This message was delivered at LifePointe Church on Sunday, February 28, 2016.

Week 2 (Peace) of The Heart Has a Home in the Living Room at East Petersburg ...jeffmclain
In our most popular stories, people are always – either physically or metaphorically – wondering from home, coming back home or feeling at home. A homecoming is the deployed soldier's nightly dream, the team’s big day, and the prodigal’s greatest act of courage. And this theme of “home” runs deeply throughout the Scriptures, map out out the path of the human heart as we start at home, wander in exile, then finally commence our return home. Home. Exile. Return. This is the way of the human heart in the biblical narrative. Have you ever noticed that, when compared to the other Gospels, the Gospel of John gets so little attention during the Christmas Season? John, known as the ‘Beloved Apostle,’ does not begin his telling of the life of Jesus with a birth narrative, a documentation of His lineage or anything that resembles a “hark the herald angels sing” moment.
There are few Christmas plays that attempt to bring the cosmic metaphors of John 1 to the stage; Matthew, Mark, and Luke get top billing as children dress up in the shepherds’ robes, angels’ gowns, and cow costumes, all to reenact the vivid scenes of the nativity. Instead, John brings his Christmas story with what amounts to a retelling of Genesis!
That is where we pick up in Week 2, This first Sunday of Advent. The Heart Comes Home – To Peace.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

John 19 1 22 sentance
1. Faith in Christ Jesus:
2 Timothy 1:12 defines FAITH as knowing the trustworthy character and
motives of Jesus, and being confident in His limitless promise-keeping
ability, and consequently committing yourself entirely to His keeping. We
are studying the Gospel of John, answering these questions: 1) What is
revealed of Jesus’ character, motives, and abilities? 2) What is indicated that
you could confidently commit to Jesus’?
THE SENTANCING
John 19:1-22
Barabbas (“son of the father”), a convicted insurrectionist and robber, is set
free. Jesus Christ, Son of God the Father, legally declared innocent, repeatedly,
is condemned to die. Barabbas gave people a false hope for freedom from
Rome. Jesus gave people a secure hope for freedom from death (Hebrews 2).
Matthew 27:24 records Pilate washing his hands of innocent blood, a purely
Jewish action (Deut.21:6-7). He presented the scourged Jesus (John 19:1-5),
again declared innocent, perhaps hoping the sight of Jesus would gain some
sympathy from the crowd! Compare Matt. 24:3 & 24 (“see thou to it”) to see
Pilate's attempt to awaken a conscience in the priests! Every effort to release
Jesus failed because of the determined resistance of people who had waited
all their lives for the Messiah! SELAH! Pilate anxiously sought (amplified
Bible) to release Jesus (John 19:12) after Jesus calmly explained WHO GAVE
PILATE AUTHORITY TO CRUCIFY HIM! Even this was a final appeal by Jesus for
Pilate to believe, by pointing out the sovereignty of God! The sovereignty of
God invites our submission to God! SELAH!
After five or six hours of employing every conceivable legal, religious, and
emotional appeal to release Jesus, Pilate finally passes sentence upon Him,
writing His crime on a placard that hung on the cross above His head. “Jesus
the Nazarene, the King of the Jews”
Legal Appeal: “I find no fault in Him at all.”
Religious Appeal: “King of the Jews”, & hand washing.
Emotional Appeal: Presented Him after scourging Him.
(these are only examples of all Pilate did.)
In none of this is Jesus a victim of injustice! Injustice is raging
unrestrained throughout this historical account! If evil is a required aspect of
producing good, then evil serves a good purpose. Does evil produce good?
Did injustice produce our salvation through Jesus? Then evil IS good! This
cannot be true!
No one would have needed salvation if there had never been any sin,
injustice, or evil! The amazing and awesome thing is that God put on display
all the horror of sin, and destroyed its power when it was strongest!
Remember your study in Hebrews 2!
Jesus was not a victim, but was victorious, in that He took on sin when it
was most powerful, endured its worst cruelties, but never stopped inviting
people to trust in Him!
… and then He even conquered death itself …
