1. Dear Stephanie,
I fully endorse the idea of mentorship as a viable route to learn a trade within the film
industry. Mentorship is how many stuntmen and women, as well as people
in nearly every other department of film production currently get their "in" into the film
industry. From my experience, action sport athletes already encompass a large part of
what is necessary to become a stunt professional. Combine their athletic skills with
additional training, proper direction and time on set, and these athletes not only have the
potential to perform stunts, but they could soon become an effective member of a stunt
team.
Creative talent, vision and passion are key ingredients in any successful film. Although a
college degree is good to have, it has been proven to not be required in making a career in
the film industry. Especially if a person comes to the table with these special skills.
I know that GOLdiN is a very large undertaking, but I also know your talent, and if anybody
could make it happen, it's you. Your spirit encompasses a drive and passion that is rarely
seen. I will attest that anything you set your mind to do, I can consider it done.
When you get GOLdiN up and running, I look forward to working with you once again.
Sincerely,
Jeff Habberstad
