The Node.js Foundation has consolidated all the best thinking around why enterprises should consider Node.js for their systems of engagement in this short presentation.
Vue comes with a simple and minimalistic core that is perfect for simple, single page applications that don't require heavy overheads. Vue works primarily on the ViewModel with two-way data bindings and is designed to be simple and flexible, allowing developers to mold the layer as they see fit.
Amongst all the big front end frameworks, Nuxt.js stands out as it has a lot of advantages over the other. This presentation covers an overview of Nuxt.js and how Server Side Rendering helps in improving the SEO of a site.

The Node.js movement has transformed the landscape of UI development. In this session we'll look at how Node.js can be leveraged on multiple layers of the web application development lifecycle. Attendees will learn how incorporating Node.js into your front-end build process can optimize code, allow you to use use new and upcoming JavaScript features in your code today, and to improve your asset delivery pipeline. This session will also cover how Node is changing the template rendering landscape, allowing developers to write "isomorphic" code that runs on the client and server. Lastly we'll look into using Node to achieve developer zen by keeping the codebase clean and limiting the risk of changes to the code causing unknown errors.

My talk in Bessemer VP R&D / CTO yearly event (Jan 2020).
The presentation discusses major concept in resilience testing and MyHeritage's path to Chaos Engineering.
Load testing is essential for any software to the test its performance before it’s out there in the market. Load testing will simulate various load circumstances and will test the endurance of any software. However, to do these, testers usually depends on various tools. Let’s have a look.
Java can be used two types of programs: applications & applets. An application is a program that runs on your computer, under the operating system of that computer.
An applets is an application designed to be transmitted over the Internet and executed by a java-compatible Web Browser. An applet is an executable program that runs inside a browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.
Java is a general-purpose; object oriented programming language developed by Sun Microsystems of USA in 1991. This language was initially called “Oak” by James Gosling, but was renamed “Java” in 1995. Java (with a capital J) is a high-level, third generation programming language, like C, Fortran, Smalltalk, Perl, and many others.Java was initially designed to solve on a small scale could also be applied to the Internet on a large scale. This realization caused the focus of Java to switch from consumer electronic to Internet Programming.Java was designed for the development of software for consumer electronic devices like TVs, VCRs, Toasters, Microwaves ovens and such other electronics devices.Java is a first programming language that is not tied to any particular hardware or operating system. Programs developed in Java can be executed anywhere on any system.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

2. Introduction
JCrawler is an open-source Stress-Testing Tool for web-applications.
It is mainly for developers and it works on CLI (Command Line Interface).
It specialty is crawling/exploratory of web application.
Only starting URLs of web-app is to be given as input and it will begin crawling from that point
onwards, going through any URLs it can find on its way and generating load on the web
application.
The load parameters (hits/sec) are configurable.
2
3. Features
Console mode - JCrawler is easy to run remotely and monitor, using little bandwidth. It can be
very useful if your testing point is secured i.e. if you can access your testing environment only from
a limited network, hence your test tool has to be in that network, too and the only access you get is
SSH.
Easy to configure - " Easy to configure - The entire configuration happens in a central XML file.
Keeping set of different XML files in a handy place and have several configurations ready to go,
whenever it is needed.
Platform independent – It is platform independent.
3
4. Functionalities
Crawling - A lot of load-test tools allow you to indicate a set of URLs and they would just hit these
URLs repeatedly. For a complex web-application it may not make much sense.
"Human" pattern – JCrawler follows hits-per-second pattern, guaranteeing indicated load and
will fire-up as many threads, as needed to keep the load constant.
Http Redirects and Cookies –It tests the system for http redirects and cookies.
OSS and self testing – It comprises of Operation Support System and unit-tests which makes itself
bug free and has the ability to fix, customize, or enhance itself.
4
5. Installation Guide
Properly install Apache Ant and Java on your system.
ant dist
cd dist
Edit conf/crawlerConfig.xml to customize settings
run.sh (for Unix ) or run.bat (for Windows).
Jcrawler starts stressing the website and output is stored in monitor.log file.
5
6. XML File6
In the crawlerConfig.xml XML file enter the url of web-application
All these graphs and pie-charts look cool and can help for a presentation to the management but when you have a real problem to solve they are not the ones that matter.
