THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

Ruiz y Picasso known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso (Spanish pro-
DACE Conference 10/29 nunciation: ; 25 October 1881 – 8 April 1973) was a Spanish
expatriate painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage
designer, one of the greatest and most influential artists of the

20th century. He is widely known for co-founding the Cubist
movement and for the wide variety of styles that he helped de-

Library proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and Guernica
(1937), a portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during

the Spanish Civil War.
The enormous body of Picasso’s work remains,
and the legend lives on—a tribute to the vitality of
the ―disquieting‖ Spaniard with the
―sombre…piercing‖ eyes who superstitiously be-
lieved that work would keep him alive. For nearly
80 of his 91 years Picasso devoted himself to an
artistic production that contributed significantly to PABLO PICASSO
and paralleled the whole development of modern
art in the 20th century.
Picasso’s art from the time of the Demoiselles was radical in
nature, virtually no 20th-century artist could escape his influ-
Welcome: New Staff Members ence. Picasso continued to be an innovator into the last decade
of his life. This led to misunderstanding and criticism both in his
lifetime and since, and it was only in the 1980s that his last
paintings began to be appreciated both in themselves and for
their profound influence on the rising generation of young paint-
ers. Since Picasso was able from the 1920s to sell works at
very high prices, he could keep most of his oeuvre in his own
collection. At the time of his death he owned some 50,000
works in various media from every period of his career, which
passed into possession of the French state and his heirs. Their
exhibition and publication has served to reinforce the highest
estimates of Picasso’s astonishing powers of invention and
execution over a span of more than 80 years.
