This document discusses the need for an empowering and healing space for women survivors of violence. It notes that crimes against women are increasing daily, causing mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. It proposes designing a site on the outskirts of the capital that would provide housing, work opportunities, and recreational activities to help survivors heal, regain self-control, and feel empowered. References are included about existing centers that provide similar services.

1. AN EMPOWERING AND HEALING SPATIAL ARRANGMENT
FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE,RAPE, DOMESTIC
VIOLENCE,MARITAL ABUSE, ACID ATTACKS THROUGH
ARCHIETCTURE AAND LANDSCAPING-

2.  Invisible survivors refers to the women survivors of our society who are numerous
but daily hidden. They survives daily by struggling with their hidden thoughts.
They fight with their minds and surroundings but choose to stay quite.
 The irony is no one is helping. Research shows that approximate 18 crimes against
women records daily in our country. These hidden thoughts of loss of self-control,
security, ignorance and unwantedness create the sense of perpetual misery. Trauma
from these experiences leads to ANXIETY, DEPRESSION AND EVEN
POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDERS

3.  Anxiety and depressive disorders among the women survivors is at its peak in the
present times. It was predicted a decade back that by 2020 the anxiety and
depression will be the roots of every disease. In this case the loss of self-control,
suicidal thoughts, and lack of motivation, unhealthy minds and bodies are the key
disorders among the survivors of Rape, acid attacks, marital and domestic abuse,
sexual harassment and honor killing. All these issues shall be addressed in this
report and solutions should be given architecturally.

excluded.

8.  FOUNTAIN HOUSE, LAHORE
 Only institute of its kind in South Asia.
 Called THE HOME OF HAPPINESS.
 Fountain House is about the power of community. It was created to relieve the
loneliness and stigma that affect so many people who are living with serious
mental illnesses, like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression.
Serious mental illness disrupts lives - people lose their jobs, they drop out of
school, they alienate their families and friends, and they end up alone.

11.  A place with few means but great promise. In this semi-rural setting, women
dedicate their days to small subsistence farms, fetching fresh water, wood for fuel.
and scavenging The site of the new Women’s Opportunity Center, located at a
crossroads above a fertile valley, is an ideal arena for architecture that opens a
new world of opportunity.

12.  Healing through landscape design, Recreational center, living space and work
place.

 Primarily I’m thinking of selecting site within the out skirts of the Capital.

13.  Crimes against women are increasing day by day; the rate is constantly going
upward with no precautionary actions against the crimes. These crimes against
the women are raising several issues like mental disorders, loss of self-control,
lack of activities and all. The shortage of building spaces that provide them
healing plus work and live experience reproducing healthy and productive
individual is much needed yet so less. So a space for these people that they can
own, live and work within can be designed.
