Preventing Deaths of Manual Scavengers by SANI-PRENEUR. SANI-PRENEUR, a Livelihood oriented Techno-economically viable System for sanitation, owned and operated by the sanitation worker. Giving ownership to the sanitation worker is the permanent solution to the problems of sanitation as well as the society, both urban and rural. India needs 2.5 lakh SANI-PRENEURs to get rid of the menace of Manual Scavenging. Due to urgent need for such system, SANI-PRENEURS are eligible for price subsidy and interest subsidy. As per a Toilet Board Coalition report, Toilet sanitation in India is a USD 62 Billion opportunity waiting to be exploited and SANI-PRENEUR alone can touch USD 30+ Billion. SANI-PRENEUR will be used for 12 crore Leach pit toilets, Crores of Underground drainage Manholes and Septic tanks. SANI-PRENEUR is widely recognized for its potential including winning India's top Ten Swachhata Startup Challenge-2022 (MoHUA), ASME iSHOW (USA) and ISC-FICCI award winner in 2020. We received BIRAC-BIG grant in 2022 and angel funding by Dr Russell J DeLucia, a PhD in Economics and Engineering from Harvard, which helped bring this Technology to readiness for deployment. Under brand name JALODBUST we started on the journey for 'Eradication of Manual Scavenging through Technology' in Nov 2019 at Bangalore by registering our company CHERRIES ENGINEERING AND INNOVATION INDIA PVT. LTD. On the successful achievements of ODF Mission, by 2019 the country had moved on to the next more even difficult phase of toilet sanitation i.e ODF++ (2019-2029). Everyone knew that time is ticking and the need for a ODF++ solutions is urgent. Besides Toilet sanitation is also an important issue of circular economy, social, water and food security.SANI-PRENEUR is a Light Commercial Vehicle/ Tractor trolley mounted electro-mechanical system that is operable by both genders. It has a vehicle mounted sealed sludge transportation tank with an inbuilt agitator. It works by agitating the settled sludge, converting it into slurry and pumping it out, all the operations being micro-processor controlled. We propose to add a communication module that will load the daily work done data to the cloud for each machine, data remaining available to the stakeholders. The SANI-PRENEUR comes with a complimentary membership on the JALODBUST mobile APP linking SANI-PRENEUR owner-operator and the beneficiary. For the last 3 months we have been giving Demos to the sanitation workers, Panchayats and Municipalities in Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Maharashtra, with tremendous acceptance.
