Provide leadership, project management and programmatic oversight for cross-sectional
teams, workgroups and individuals that contribute to the content development,
implementation, evaluation, revision, training, technical assistance and marketing of a
sub-set of the Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Branch’s (NEOPB) nutrition
education, social marketing, and obesity prevention interventions.
Responsible for providing leadership for the Rethink Your Drink (RYD) program
components that include: program planning, training, technical assistance, community
engagement and evaluation, and reporting. RYD works with local health departments
and their subcontractors as well as community members to provide education on making
healthy beverage choices and conduct educational events that will equip California
residents with the information needed to make those choices.
Lead strategic discussions for annual goals and workplans; identifies resources needed,
projects milestones and annual deliverables.
Provide content and support for the development and administration of procurements,
including, but not limited to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for
Applications (RFAs) and other funding vehicles, as required, to advance public health
approaches to obesity prevention, inclusive of policy, systems and environmental change
recommendations, technical assistance, and to engage subject matter experts in support of
NEOPB social marketing campaigns.

Charged with the allocation and oversight of Proposition 10 tobacco tax funds in Placer
County, to promote early child development.

Utilize Protective Factors Framework to increase the well-being of children and families

Extensive evaluation planning that includes training, technical assistance, and facilitation
to assist funded partners in defining their scope of work, outcome statements,
performance measures, as well as data collection and analyses processes.

Worked with Placer County under the Department of Health and Human Services to
examine Joint Use Agreements.
Successfully reviewed and identified critical policies for execution and expanded policies
by providing accurate information and resources for adequate places for children and
their families to exercise and play.
Advocated for the community by informing cities and school districts that policies need
to be in place and they need to recognize that providing access to existing recreational
facilities is one of the most promising strategies for building more opportunities for
physical activity.
Appointed a lead role in Placer County’s Employee Wellness Program to assist with

Created wellness program that envisioned improving health outcomes in nutrition,

Owned and operated a community based organization and successful wellness center that
focused on achieving a healthy lifestyle through health education, physical activity and
nutrition. Founded and acted as the Director and Wellness Educator for the Absolute
Wellness Club (AWC). Consulting with individuals and groups.
Health education programs: nutrition, physical activity, health and safety, and
communicable disease prevention and tobacco prevention and education.
AWC included: needs assessment, design, implementation, and evaluation, along with the
preparation of educational materials, educational presentations, community focus groups,
monthly webinars, health fairs, and the development of tailored wellness programs for
groups and individual clients to address: hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, prenatal
care, and preventative approaches to combat chronic disease.
Executed several partnerships and contracts with numerous service providers to provide
supplemental services related to the implementation of the AWC.
Responsible for overall project/program management, development of the scope of
services, development of the program plan (which included: plan narrative, identification
of goals and objectives, the method of implementation, outcome objectives, and budget
development), and for implementation of the plan.
