JACKSON, WY: THE COMMUNITY NEED
Total Population: 10,449 (2014)
Children under 5: 1,282 (2012)
Children K-5th Grade: ~1,500 (2017)
• Quality and affordable out-of-school care for working families has
been identified as one of the top community needs in Teton County,
2nd to housing and healthcare (2015 survey conducted by Teton County).
• Teton County families with young children need safe and enriching
indoor play spaces in which to interact during the long winter months.
• 46% of children entering kindergarten are from first generation Latino
families.
WHO WE ARE
OUR MISSION
To Provide Space to PLAY, CREATE, EXPLORE and DISCOVER.
OUR VISION
We envision a community where all children are curious, collaborative and innovative individuals.
OUR VALUES
Commitment to CHILDREN:
• We honor children’s unique interests and innate capabilities.
• We value experiential discovery and an inquiry-based process.
Commitment to COMMUNITY:
• We are committed to positive and enriching relationships.
• We value collaborative partnerships that promote accessibility and diversity.
Commitment to FAMILIES:
• We value a space where children, caregivers and families can have fun together.
“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play, children learn how to learn.”
~ O. Fred Donaldson

K-5th grade STEAM Programs
80% of K-5 students in Teton County impacted – over 1,200 students.
“Students had an amazing time visiting JHCM. The staff did
an exceptional job designing an engaging lesson that
targeted specific grade level standards. Students came back
to the classroom excited to discuss and share their new
discoveries. Our students cannot wait for the next
opportunity to return to JHCM and expand their thinking
and knowledge.”
~ Annie Bacon, 2nd Grade Spanish Dual Immersion Teacher

REVENUES & EXPENSES
2016-17 Revenues 2016-17 Expenses
WHY THIS WORK IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER
• With TCSD #1 facing a $3.7M cut in the next 2 years, perpetuating quality
programs that expose children to the arts and sciences are crucial.
Our K-5th grade STEAM programs engage over 1,200 students annually.
• With our workforce being taxed by Jackson’s high cost of living, organizations
like ours help to provide affordable out-of-school care for their families.
We provide quality summer and afterschool programming for over 250 working families.
• Quality experiences in early education are an important indicator for success
later in life.
Hundreds of local families use the Museum to PLAY, CREATE, EXPLORE and DISCOVER.
THANK YOU!
