INSTRUCTION THAT INSPIRES
Results Matter: An Overview
Proven Track Record of Measurable, Effective Leadership:
v Dillard has served as a leader in JCPS since 2007, first at Jeffersontown High School and
now at Seneca High School. Student achievement increased at both schools under
Dillard’s instructional leadership roles.
v Seneca High School enrollment has increased each year of Dillard’s tenure as principal
despite the school being labeled a Priority School by the Kentucky Department of
Education (KDE) prior to her arrival.
v Dillard received the highest score among Priority School leaders during the 2013
leadership assessment by KDE. The state team’s report described her as a “visionary
leader.”
v In 2013, Seneca High School received the highest leadership assessment report from
KDE among all JCPS priority schools.
v Seneca was the only school recognized by KDE for a “Powerful Practice.” This
commendation was based on Seneca’s Professional Learning Community (PLC)
practices. Additionally, educational consulting expert, Rick DuFour, is in the process of
recognizing Seneca’s PLC practices as a model for the rest of the country.
v Under Dillard’s leadership, Seneca High School has risen from the 9th
percentile to the
42nd percentile in just three years. While in priority status, Seneca has either tied or
surpassed three other non-priority JCPS high schools.
v Seneca High School’s average freshman graduation rate has increased from 59.7% to
82.5% over the last three years.
