Jack the Ripper was a serial killer who murdered five prostitutes in Whitechapel, London in 1888. The murders remain unsolved. Suspects included Polish immigrants Seweryn Antonowicz Kłosowski and Aaron Kosminski. Between each murder, Jack the Ripper taunted police with letters about how close they were to catching him. The five victims were Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly, who were all killed by throat cutting near Whitechapel Cathedral.
