Jack the otter leaves the zoo where he lives to search for his biological parents. He gets bitten by a sea urchin and falls unconscious. An old turtle named Pepe saves Jack and nurses him back to health in an underwater cave. Pepe tells Jack about a group of otters living in a river far away. Jack swims there and meets an otter family - Antonio, Ana, and their daughter Marianne. Antonio and Ana's original zoo was Jack's zoo. Jack marries Marianne and joins the otter family.

1. JACK THE
OTTER

2. Once upon a time Jack, the little otter , who lived in Parrot Park, was very
happy eating sardines and marine delights like lobsters or shrimps.

3. One day, he was so bored to be in Parrot Park that he decided to
swim out. He wanted to discover the sea, he wanted to know how
the wild animals lived together, how they moved or how they swam,
but he was anxious to find his biological parents.
I’m
bored.

4. Three days later, Jack left the zoo. He didn’t care about his keepers.
He only wanted to see his parents. One day, he jumped into the sea
to discover a stunning new world. He saw sardines diving in big
groups and how big canarian lobsters were… An interesting
ecosystem was in front of him

5. Everything was perfect and wonderful, as soon as Jack was
looking to a holoturia, a sea urchin bit him. His tail had been
infected with sea urchin’s poison, slowly Jack started to fall asleep.
His body
fell down softly in the deep sand and his joints were relaxed. He
thought that he was going to die. The last thing that he
remembered was a shadow of a huge turtle.
When he woke up, he was surprised , because he had never been
in such a beautiful place before. He was in a cave with hundreds of
turtles and he didn’t understand the reason why or how he was
inside

6. He could breathe in that cave, he felt as if he was inside of an air
bubble
An old turtle told him:
- “Hello my name is Pepe”. “I am who has carried you”. “What’s
your name?”
And Jack replied:
- “I’m Jack ,the otter, Mr Pepe”. “ How did you remove the
poison from my body and cure me?”
- “Here you are an antidote for all the diseases and infections,
my dear friend Jack”.
- “Unbelievable! and I hadn’t any idea there was a magic potion,
which cures all ills”, Said Jack with a happy tone.
- “My dear Jack !, you have to learn many things about marine
animals, because I suppose that you are not from here, aren’t
you?”
- “ You are right!. I’m from a zoo, called Parrot Park. Have you
heard about it?”
- “No, I haven’t”

7. A few minutes later ,Jack and Pepe finished chattering.
Jack asked the old turtle if he had ever seen other otters like
him.
The turtle said that he had seen some otters, which were living in
his cave for a long time.
Jack was very happy to hear his news and asked Pepe if he knew
where they had gone.
Pepe told him they went to a safe place where humans couldn’t
fish them , far away Mackenzie river.
Jack hurried to jump into the sea and swam as fast as he could
towards Mackenzie river, without listening to his friend that the
otters had been hunted by the humans of the zoo.
As soon as Jack reached the place, he was so tired and his fur
was so badly damaged because of sea salt that he fell asleep in a
riverbank.

8. When he woke up, he saw a couple of otters and their daughter
staring at him.
Jack asked for their names and the male otter said:
- “I’m Antonio and these are my wife Ana and our daughter
Marianne”.
- “My name is Jack”.
The otter family wanted to know if he had been born in Parrot
Park. As Jack nodded his head , Antonio started to cry
desperately.
Marianne explained to him that her parents had been hunted by a
couple of humans who worked in Parrot Park.
Antonio’s family followed the humans who were sailing on a boat
towards Parrot Park. They didn’t know if they were alive.
Jack told them not to worry about her parents, because he had
seen them performing an aquatic show
Jack was about to be a new member of the otter family, because
he got married to their daughter
and this original tale is over
