Abstract
Brine Shrimp are a micro crustacean that is found mostly in inland saltwater bodies, however, the
salinity levels that they live in vary greatly. The conditions that they require can be made at home
as the eggs (cysts) of the shrimp are dry, hard shells that can withstand drought and go without
water for up to 50 years. This study presents the results of 3 different salinity levelled
environments to the Brine shrimp in order to discover a salinity level that produces the most

Taking about a week to fully mature into an adult and living for several months, the shrimp do
have a surprisingly long life cycle being also able to reproduce up to 300 cysts every 4 days in
the right conditions. Other variables such as salinity, temperature, light, pH levels, water levels
and predatory presence play a large role in the hatching rate of the crustacean. The brine shrimp
are an extremely versatile micro crustacean as they can survive up to 10x salt concentration of
ordinary sea water (Eol.org, 2016) and are able to protect themselves during drought or when
conditions are not ideal for survival. This is called highly resistant encysted gastrula embryo (cyst)
that is easily able to hatch under conditions that can be replicated at home.
There are numerous variables that impact hatching rate such as the salinity levels of the habitat as
the cyst would not hatch if the salinity was not ideal. If the conditions were not correct, the cysts
remain dried and surrounded by a thick shell until ready to develop which can be up to 50 years.
Once the conditions are met, the cyst takes approximately 36 hours until the shrimp is released;
from there, the adolescent can produce up to 500 nauplii. The salt concentration, when too high,
impacts hatching as osmosis cannot occur correctly. The water outside the shell would have a higher

While the Hagia Sophia and the Pantheon were built in and represent two different time periods and
locations, they have some similar structural features as well as some resembling circumstances
surrounding their prospective histories. Both of their unique construction is related to their
different purposes and the symbolism behind the buildings. The Pantheon represents a time in

What would you do if you found out that your friends had committed a crime that caused a boy s
death? Would you turn them in even if you were slightly involved in the crime? Well that is the
predicament that the main character in Red Kayak faces. The major plot events in Red Kayak go
like this: Mrs. DiAngelo and her son Ben were in a kayaking accident, and Ben dies as a result,
leaving Brady, the main character, traumatized. Later, Brady finds out that his two friends, J.T.
and Digger caused the kayak to sink. Brady also remembers a day when the three of them were
swimming and Digger was acting angry at the DiAngelos for buying his grandfather s farm.
Brady had suggested to put holes in the kayak, so now Brady has to decide what to do because the
plan to sink the kayak was his idea. Things like this make Red Kayak a good example of realistic
fiction. Realistic fiction is a type of story that might really happen. The five elements of realistic
fiction are: credible events, authentic characters, real setting, true to life themes, and believable
dialogue. Credible events are events that could really happen. Authentic characters are characters
that develop over time. Real setting shows a setting that could really exist. True to life themes are
themes that could be applied to one s own life. And finally, believable dialogue contains realistic

Abstract
The question of self identity has been commonly argued in field of the African American literature;
with scholars such as Martin R. Delany and W.E.B Du Bois argue about the emphasis on raceand
racial consciousness. Together Du Bois and Delaney stress the importance of the color line, or the
racial segregation in the United States, as a critical part of American history; nonetheless they
both had completely dissimilar thoughts on the subject. Du Bois placed more emphasizes on
double consciousness. He was concerned that African Americans put superiority of one part of
their heritage over the other. On the other hand, Delaney argues that the major problem with
identity is the separation and how it was derived from slavery. However, these arguments have
not effectively addressed the issue of defining one s identity. My paper addresses the issue of
successfully identifying what we consider African Americans with special attention to why there
was once only Black and White with no shades of gray in America. Specifically, in my argument, I
will be examining the monolithic labels, e.g. black, placed on people of African descendants, in
order to show how history has failed to correctly identify African Americans. I will discuss self

Texas is considered a very diverse and unique state in many different aspects. It is the second largest
state with more than twenty six million people residing. People all over the state live in a variety of
environments, cities, suburbs, rural areas, you name it. Of course though, like in everything else,
there are always both positive and negative things. However, despite the fact that Texas have very
high poverty rates and it has the second highest income inequality, Texas is a very interesting state
and it has a lot of things that are worth learning about. I learned some things about Texas politics
that I thought were very interesting. These topics include the State Constitution and the legislature.
The Texas Constitution and the U.S. Constitution is very similar to each other in terms of structure.
Both documents provide framework, and the amendments come from the will of the people. The
Texas Constitution was written to govern the the individual state alone so it should be more
specific and less flexible to change. On the other hand, the U.S Constitution is more flexible than
the Texas Constitution because of the fact that it was designed to be governing a total of fifty states
with each individual states differing from others in values, beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, and the
states consist of individuals who have similar values. Today, we are still operating under the 1876
Constitution with four hundred ninety one amendments, which includes a preamble and seventeen

excitement, loneliness, and disillusionment experienced by Hemingway and his contemporaries. In

Summary The Sun Also Rises begins in 1920 s Paris, with Jake Barnes describing his friend,
Rob Cohn. He likes Cohn but criticizes him, saying he wasted his money, and is boring and
plain. Cohn is writing his novel while in Paris, but once he finishes, he travels back to the
United States to find a publisher for his book, which he does, and also finds social success in
New York, something he felt he was lacking in Paris. Upon his return, He and Barnes travel to a
nightclub in the city, and Barnes sees his friend, Brett Ashley, a beautiful, intelligent and modern
woman whom both Jake and Cohn have feelings for. Jake kisses her that night, but although she
