Indiana University has implemented Microsoft Lync across its multiple campuses serving over 115,000 students and 20,000 faculty and staff. The implementation includes Lync servers located across Bloomington and Indianapolis as well as regional satellite campuses. Since 2007, the number of Lync users has grown from around 5,000 to over 27,000 currently. Lync provides unified communications capabilities including instant messaging, audio and video calling, desktop sharing, and enterprise voice services across the university.
