The Intranet is an incredibly powerful tool. When it is built correctly and used in the correct way it can dramatically improve an organizations productivity --- From https://emgage.com
When it comes to software or technology in general, we’re used to change. We expect – and even demand – regular updates, fresh and exciting features, new releases. In order to remain relevant, it’s vital to stay ahead of the game: and our corporate intranet must do the same. Here are the top demands for your intranet: and the features that deliver on them.
This document discusses statistics related to enterprise mobility and mobile workers. Some key points include:
- By 2020, mobile workers will account for roughly 72% of the total U.S. workforce.
- Happy employees are 12% more productive and better at problem solving and collaborating.
- Companies gain an extra 240 hours of work per year from mobile working.
The document describes 7 bad habits that can lead to failed implementations of IT service management frameworks like ITIL, CobiT, and Six Sigma. The 7 habits are: 1) inattentiveness to practice texts, 2) not being attentive to stakeholder needs, 3) not having a coherent strategy for examples and wins, 4) not taking the process plunge, 5) not taking culture clashes with process seriously, 6) holding up unattainable objectives, and 7) failing to report good news and improvements. Breaking these bad habits requires attention to details in frameworks, understanding stakeholder needs, gradual implementation strategies, engagement with staff in process development, and communication of progress.
Based on strategies gathered from an expert panel during our recent webinar, here are tips on how to successfully implement new technology.

This document summarizes research conducted to understand gaps in how new technologies are rolled out at an organization. Through stakeholder interviews and user research, gaps were identified in orchestration, empathy, consistency, and change management. Specifically, it was found that the speed of rollouts causes fatigue, training plays catch-up, relationships between tools are unclear, and the vision is lacking. Additionally, benefits are unclear to users, context is not considered, strategies are inconsistent, and change management roles and metrics are undefined. However, factors like simple UX, emulation, sponsorship, and criticality of tasks can contribute to success. The document concludes by restating the IBM Design Thinking process used to observe, reflect, and make improvements.

5 mistakes to avoid when creating a mobile appRobert Sutor
The document discusses 5 common mistakes to avoid when creating a mobile app. These include: 1) Not knowing your target user or having too broad of an audience; 2) Not focusing on 1-2 key functions or pain points to solve; 3) Not designing the app to take advantage of mobile-specific features and requiring mobile use; 4) Treating mobile as an afterthought rather than designing for it from the start; and 5) Failing to create an "awesome" app that users genuinely want to use frequently. The author recommends focusing on a specific user, solving a key problem well, rethinking processes for mobile, prioritizing mobile design, and ensuring the app is highly engaging and useful for users.

New technologies are changing the way people work with each other, their organization’s partners, and their customers. Employee expectations have grown and are being met by innovation that delivers greater accessibility, lower costs, and faster results. The catch? Organizations and employees need to understand, adopt, and use these technologies or risk being outpaced by new competitors or changes in the marketplace.
Join Richard Harbridge in an insightful discussion as he explores why collaboration can be challenging in organizations today, what we can do about it together.
What makes a good intranet and why intarnet failJasper Warren
We are living in a digital age where people want to do more with less. Companies are faced by a growing mountain of data and information they store. More and more companies are finding it harder to manage all their information, how to find the information they want, how to track the information, how to break down the information silo within the company. How do they get their employees working in a more collaborative way?
Enterprise Architecture in the Boardroom with Dragon1Dragon1 Inc.
The document discusses using visualizations like an A0-sized Enterprise Architecture Blueprint to provide overviews of an organization's key processes, IT systems, and their interdependencies. It describes representing a company using Dragon1's five layers: 1) Markets and customers 2) Governance 3) Business 4) Information systems and 5) IT Infrastructure. Visualizing how these layers interact allows decision-makers to understand impacts of changes, identify redundant systems, and make strategic decisions to optimize resources and performance.
This document provides an overview of machine learning and how it can benefit businesses. It begins with defining machine learning as software that can learn from data like humans do in order to solve problems. The document then discusses myths and facts about machine learning, how it works, case studies of companies using it, and provides a guide for getting started with machine learning including adjusting mindsets, defining problems, collecting data, and finding tools. The overall message is that machine learning can provide competitive advantages and dramatically impact businesses if leveraged properly.

Virtual Agile is a methodology proposed by Zensar to allow application development teams to continue working effectively while distributed during the COVID-19 pandemic. It utilizes video conferencing, collaboration tools, and Agile practices adapted for remote work to maintain communication and productivity. Key aspects include daily stand-up meetings via video chat, optimizing application lifecycle management tools, using Slack or Trello for task tracking and file sharing, virtual whiteboarding for brainstorming, and ensuring tools are accessible from any device. Zensar offers to help organizations implement Virtual Agile through training, tool configuration, and process guidance.
This document discusses top apps for small businesses and tips for choosing the best apps. It begins by outlining 5 types of apps: 1) accounting, finances, payroll, taxes; 2) recruiting, onboarding, HR; 3) time and expense tracking; 4) payment processing and billing; 5) internal and external communication. It then provides tips for "dating" apps before committing, such as not rushing into marriage with the first app and establishing your workflow needs first. Finally, it highlights top recommended apps for small businesses: Trello, Canva, Note, Feedly, and IFTTT.
Success or failure is determined by how you manage the intranet. Behind every successful intranet is an intranet management strategy. In these slides, we share some best practices. Following these guidelines will ensure your intranet continues to deliver.
The main objective of an intranet solution is to simplify internal communication within a small
business. Unified communication encourages employees to collaborate, work at all levels of small
business. Intranet solution enables one to make more collective decisions while speaking with one
voice all across the small business.
What is Missing? - What WAS Missing?
If the analytics tools are so good, why don't they make the decisions, control the actions and explain why and why not?
1) While business intelligence tools provide data for human decision makers, advanced analytics now allow systems to actively interpret data and make decisions without human input.
2) Capturing organizational decision making processes through technologies like KEEL allows decisions to be automated, removing human biases and explaining decisions through influence diagrams.
3) Adopting such technologies now will help organizations continuously improve decision making and stay ahead of competitors, while failing to do so risks falling behind as customers demand the best, most cost-effective products and services.
A winning intranet strategy contains many small steps and a few big jumps. An intranet should never be a project - it's something that supports the business. In order to achieve this, it is important that it develops with the business and not through leaps and bounds.
This has to happen all while keeping a close eye on what's happening on the other side of the firewall since this is what the end users ultimately will request from an internal solution.

In software development, Agile’s practices have the advantage of encouraging teamwork by breaking down barriers between various teams in sales, development, business consulting, operations, and IT.
This document discusses various types of organizational gaps that can occur in companies: strategic gap, planning gap, communications gap, systems gap, and performance gap. It provides a definition and short quote for each type of gap. The strategic gap is described as occurring when the foundational strategy is unclear or inconsistent. The planning gap happens when there is a strategy but no plan of action. A communications gap arises when the strategy and plan are not communicated broadly and consistently. The systems gap exists when people have to work against inefficient processes and tools. And a performance gap is when teams cannot accomplish their goals despite having the necessary strategy, plan, communication, and systems.
How to make your intranet as addictive as facebook slideshareGeoff Talbot
The document discusses how to make an internal company intranet as engaging as Facebook by incorporating three key elements from Facebook's design: news, ease of use, and mobile responsiveness. It suggests including a news feature to keep employees informed and connected, making the interface simple and intuitive to encourage collaboration, and ensuring the intranet is accessible from any mobile device to increase adoption. The goal is to create an intranet platform that employees will want to frequently use and potentially get "addicted" to, like Facebook.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
