EVANGELISM 101: Lesson 1 - Biblical Foundations of EvangelismFrancis Hernandez
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
"It (Evangelism) comes from the same Greek word for gospel (euangelion) and means, literally, “gospeling.” When we evangelize we are “gospeling” — we are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ." - https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/what-evangelism/
Every Christian is called to do the divine task of evangelism. Evangelism is a task not just for the select churches, or for the evangelists or pastors. This is Lesson 1 of EVANGELISM 101 Series. Given last April 23, 2021 at HOPE Christian Fellowship in Guinobatan, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines by Ptr. Francis S. Hernandez.

An updated version of the introduction to our "Growing Deep in the Gospel" series. These are the notes that we handed out after the teaching. This handout is European sized.
The New Age movement currently seems to be hidden in plain sight but is being revealed as the subjective feelings- and experientially-oriented movement in the name of new revelation/new spirituality/new worldview/New World Religion.
In "Looking at the Big Picture" we look at what life is all about according to the Bible by looking at Jesus, the gospel, the church and the mission of the church. This teaching is the introduction to the gospel series "Growing Deep in the Gospel".
1. Why is the Gospel Important? Notes (Letter Sized)William Anderson
The first teaching in the series "Growing Deep in the Gospel". In this teaching we answer the question "Why is the Gospel Important?" by looking at Romans 1:16, several other Bible verses and quotes from pastors and Christian authors. Then in light of the importance of the gospel we look at what we should do with the gospel.
This is a study of Jesus as the light of the Gentiles and the glory of Israel. Jesus was a universal light to both Jews and Gentiles, Nobody needs to stay in the darkness, for the light of Jesus is everywhere for all people.

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

10. The Bible is all about Jesus, from His
pre-existence as God being
worshipped by all the heavens until
He enters into space and time of
human history to live a prefect and
sinless life so that we who distorted
our image and broken our relationship
with God and each other be brought
into redemption, reconciliation and
salvation.
15. The Church

18. The Bible is a missionary
manual, revealing God’s
redemptive purpose as the
foundation and purpose for the
entire book.
19. • The Bible is all about mission
• God is a mission God.
• The story of God
accomplishing His only
mission is the story of the
entire Bible.
20. • Being a Christian is to be
saved by God’s mission and
to be sent into mission.
• The Trinity is a perfect loving
and harmonious community
and also in a sent and
sending community as well.
21. 16 For God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into
the world to condemn the world, but
to save the world through him.
22. 18 Whoever believes in him is not
condemned, but whoever does not
believe stands condemned already
because they have not believed in
the name of God’s one and only Son.
23. 18 As you sent me into the world, I
have sent them into the world.
24. As He was sent from
heaven, He is sending
us to the world.

self-salvation, self-glorification, all
about self. (Babylon)
35. The Strong City is based on
God salvation and humility,
characterize by peace (shalom)
and harmony.
36.
37. In His earthly ministry Jesus
demonstrated he was a man for
all peoples. In His teachings and
actions He clearly sets forth the
idea of salvation through faith for
all men. In the Gospels, He is a
man with a message for every
one. Now He calls His church to
“go into all the world and preach
the gospel to all people”.

40. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth
has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the
very end of the age.”
41. The most serious obstacle
to the success of the church’s
mission is not demonic power,
but the Church’s limited
view/understanding of the
invincible resources
which are hers.
42. 8 But you will receive power when the
Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will
be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth."
