This document discusses the key aspects of Christianity according to the author. It begins by asking life's big questions about identity, purpose and how to fulfill one's purpose. It then argues that the answers are found in Jesus, who created and sustains all things and will one day judge humanity. The rest of the document outlines the importance of the gospel, church and mission, explaining that the gospel is about God's work through Jesus to restore his rule, the church is God's people called to display his wisdom, and the mission is proclaiming the gospel to others.
Paul reveals to us what the grace of God has done for us as believers. He reveals the power of the Gospel, the message of the cross of Christ and points us to the way in which God works to display His power and wisdom through each of us, so that all of us make our boast in Him alone.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Ekklesia
Ekklesia is the Greek word from
which we get our word "church"
from. An "ekklesia" is a
gathering of people who have
been called out for a purpose.
20. Importance of the Church
We have turned to a God we can use rather
than a God we must obey; we have turned to
a God who will fulfill our need rather than a
God before whom we must surrender our
rights to ourselves. He is a God for us, for
our satisfaction-- not because we have
learned to think of him in this way through
Christ but because we have learned to think
of him this way through the marketplace.
Everything is for us, for our pleasure, for our
satisfaction, and we have come to assume
that it must be so in the church as well.
David Wells
21. Importance of the Church
God’s purpose in all this was to use
the church to display his wisdom in its
rich variety to all the unseen rulers and
authorities in the heavenly places. This
was his eternal plan, which he carried
out through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 3:10-11 (NLT)
22. Importance of the Church

of the other prophets.” Then he asked
them, “But who do you say I am?”
Matthew 16:13-15 (NLT)
23. Importance of the Church
Simon Peter answered, “You are the
Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon
son of John, because my Father in
heaven has revealed this to you. You
did not learn this from any human
being. Now I say to you that you are
Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon
this rock I will build my church, and all
the powers of hell will not conquer it.
Matthew 16:16-18 (NLT)
24. Importance of the Church
As you come to him, the living Stone
—rejected by humans but chosen by

sacrifices acceptable to God through
Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5 (NIV)
