This document summarizes a research project exploring the effectiveness of using communication apps on mobile devices for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The research aims to determine if children show a preference for using mobile devices over traditional communication folders, and to assess the impact of app and device use on children's lives at home, school, and in their communities. The research methodology involves user-centered design, mixed data collection methods including interviews, observations and questionnaires, and an action research framework. Initial findings suggest benefits of app and device use, but further data analysis and implementation phases are still underway. The researcher intends to present findings, pursue additional collaborations, and disseminate results through publications.
