Jeroboam established a new religion in Israel that was similar to Judah's religion in some ways but different in significant ways. Most churches today are alike in basic beliefs and facilities but it is the differences that make the difference regarding salvation. Three key areas where churches differ are: [1] the plan of salvation taught, [2] the activities of the church regarding worship, work, and outreach, and [3] the structure and leadership of the church compared to the New Testament model. These differences are important as being alike in some ways is not sufficient and it is the differences that determine whether a church aligns with God's kingdom.
