Make Me A Servant
Make me a servant Lord, make me like you
For you are a servant, make me one, too.
Make me a servant, do what you must do
To make me a servant, make me like you.
To love my brother, to serve like you do.
I humble my spirit, I bow before yo.
And through my service, I'll be just like you.
So make me a servant, make me like you.
Open my hands Lord and teach me to share
Open my heart Lord and teach me to care,
For service to others is service to you.
Make me a servant, make me like you.
Another lesson from the Practical Christian Living (PCL) course, Diploma in Ministry Essentials (DME) program addressing the topic of spiritual growth and spiritual maturity from a biblical perspective using object lessons from the natural world.
How to Wait Upon the Lord For Your BreakthroughLee Mcfarland
Good things come to those who wait on the Lord! Isaiah 40, verse 31 says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31. The Bible tells us there is something about “waiting on the Lord” that does not sap you of energy, it is actually life-giving and renewing! God wants us to start doing some “wait training.” Psalm 40, verse 1 and 2 says… “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.” [Psalm 40:1-2] What you just read – Psalm 40 - impacted the iconic rock group, U2, and their lead singer, Bono so much, he wrote a song that uses the words from Psalm 40, and song is called, “40”. It was a hit in Germany, but not released in the USA. If you’ve been to a U2 concert, many times it's the last song they play in the concert as they all walk off stage, one by one, until all that’s left is the drummer and the crowd singing the chorus. It is a very moving experience. The word “inclined” reminds me of that famous line in Pirates of the Carribean – the Curse of the Black Pearl – where Barbosa says: "I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request…. Means 'no'". So, here in Psalm 40, it says, “HE INCLINED!” That means… YES! “I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined – he said yes to me – God wasn’t disinclined to acquiesce to my request - he was inclined to acquiesce to my request - God heard my cry! He brought me up out of a horrible pit. Is there anybody out there - besides me today - who could use being brought up out of a horrible pit? If you wait on the Lord, he is INCLINED to say YES to your RESCUE! That's what the slide presentation is all about.

Prayer Life of an Effective Christian WorkerAkin Omoniyi
Communication with God is of importance in service to God. Hence, the role prayer plays. Many believers take this for granted and ended up doing eye service that will only attract human applause and not God's commendation.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Walk Worthy of the Call
1. WALK WORTHY
OF THE CALL
Breath of Life International Church
22 February 2012
2. Understanding the Call
• A divine assignment
– An invitation to complete a work
– Your call is an invitation to DO something
• A privilege, not a right; not earned
• Not selective
– Matthew 22:14
• Not reversible
– Romans 11:29
• No guarantee of success
• Requires sacrifice
3. The Call
• Matthew 22:14
• Many are called, but few are chosen.
– The Called
• G2821 (G2822), Gr. κλῆσις “klēsis”
• Pronounced klay'-sis
• An invitation, calling
– The Chosen
• G1588 (G1589), Gr. ἐκλεκτός “eklektos̄”
• Pronounced ek-lek-tos'
• Chosen, selected, elected, favorite
4. Supply and Demand
• God has need of you, but He doesn’t
NEED you!
• Your calling is never rescinded, but you
can be replaced! Don’t get fired!
– Eli replaced by Samuel
– Saul replaced by David
– Judas replaced by Matthias
• It’s not about you! It’s about God’s
plan being executed!
5. Called, Sent and Chosen
Chosen
Sent
Called
“For many are called, but few
are chosen.” Matthew 22:14
“But how can they call on him
to save them unless they
believe in him? And how can
they believe in him if they have
never heard about him? And
how can they hear about him
unless someone tells them?
And how will anyone go and
tell them without being sent?”
Romans 10:14-15
6. You Must Make the Cut
CHOSEN – Those who preach the Gospel and live
thereby, including all specific instruction by the
Spirit, are chosen.
GIFTED – All are expected to assist the Body of Christ by
sharing the Gospel AND using the gifts given by Christ,
through the Holy Spirit, for the Church.
SENT – All who accept Christ are called to share the
Gospel.
CALLED – God calls many to salvation.

Matthew 28:18-20
Ephesians 4:11-12
2Timothy 4:6-8
7. The Call Requires WORK!
• 2 Timothy 4:5; Matthew 28:18-20
– You must PROVE yourself!
• Your call is not a title or a status, but a
duty… an assignment!
• Are you doing your job well? One must
be accountable to God and His people
in order to be successful!
– Proverbs 27:2
– Ephesians 4
8. Walk Worthy of the Call
• Ephesians 4:1-3 (NLT)
– Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord,
beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling,
for you have been called by God.
– Always be humble and gentle. Be patient
with each other, making allowance for
each other’s faults because of your love.
– Make every effort to keep yourselves united
in the Spirit, binding yourselves together
with peace.
9. Walk Worthy of God
• 1 Thessalonians 2:12 (NLT)
– We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and
urged you to live your lives in a way that
God would consider worthy. For he called
you to share in his Kingdom and glory.
10. Never Neglect the Gifts
• 1 Timothy 4:13-15 (NLT)
– …focus on reading the Scriptures to the
church, encouraging the believers, and
teaching them.
– Do not neglect the spiritual gift you
received through the prophecy spoken over
you when the elders of the church laid their
hands on you.
– Give your complete attention to these
matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so
that everyone will see your progress.
11. Take it Seriously
• 2 Peter 1:10-11 (NLT)
– …work hard to prove that you really are
among those God has called and chosen.
Do these things, and you will never fall
away.
– Then God will give you a grand entrance
into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ.
12. Be Led of the Spirit
• John 14:26
• 1 Corinthians 12, 14
– Many gifts are granted of the same Spirit
– Unity is essential
– EVERY gift is necessary
– Accountability is required
– God operates in ORDER, not confusion
• Ephesians 4:4-16
