This document summarizes what it means to be "likeminded" based on passages from Philippians and Romans. It discusses three key aspects:
1) Having the mind of the leader, which is seeking Christ's glory rather than one's own.
2) Having a collegial spirit of trying to reach others and being part of one another within the church community.
3) Making being likeminded a lifestyle and source of joy through unity, love and striving together for the faith as members of the body of Christ.
John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Talk on the topic "Our call: to be Holy", part of a series "Vocation and Mission of Lay people in the Church and the World Today." The Emmaus prayer meeting 7th March 2009.
It is a privilege to be a part of the Lord's church. The church covenant explains the nature and duties of church membership in a Bible-believing Baptist church. It was probably published by Baptists in the early 19th century.
A lesson by Mike Smith. Everyone should develop upward thinking. This is the focus on things from heaven which are God's things which He wants us to think about and things to do while we're here on earth.
Fellowship was a major part of first century Christianity and it should be today. But what is fellowship and what brings us together - meals after service? That and much more. Yes we gather together but we are knit together, joined together, striving together and one day we will be caught up together.

Following Jesus goes deeper than behaviors it permeates the attitudes. Paul uses this hymn/poem not primarily for its theology, rich though it is, but for its application. We are to adopt the same mind as was reflected in Christ.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
2. Phil 2:20-21 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.
3. Introduction The nature of God’s work is vastly different with that of any organization, but nevertheless, it consists of men. The New Testament Church is an organized assembly of born-again, scripturally baptized people in a given locality, having a covenant of faith with God and with one another, and ready to carry out the spirit and letter of the Great Commission given in Matthew 28:18-20.
4. Notice that though born-again, yet men. Also these men have a covenant of faith with God and with one another carry out…. The word covenant gives us an idea as to what sort of men they should be. If we are to have staff people, they ought to be men who are in the mindset of being part of a covenant. Therefore, we need men who are likeminded.
5. Phil 2:20-21 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.
6. What it means to be likeminded It is having the mind of the leader. But what is the mind of the leader? The leader must not be seeking for his own glory but that of Christ’s. The leader is a man. He is part of the men who comprise the NTC. But he is a leader.
7. Rom 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
8. What it means to be likeminded It is a collegial spirit. We are part of one another. No one should be on his own. A collegial spirit of trying to reach others
9. Phil 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
10. What it means to be likeminded It is now having it as our lifestyle. One that is never forced nor one that is a life of pretention. It has now become our life.
11. Phil 2:2 Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
12. What it means to be likeminded Then it becomes our joy in life. Not only lifestyle but a source of joy, love, and unity among ourselves.
