This document provides information about different types of islands through definitions and examples. It discusses continental islands like Newfoundland, oceanic islands like those in the Mariana Islands, desert islands without people, and artificial islands constructed by humans like those in Dubai. It also explains atolls and coral islands, and provides examples of specific island groups, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep Islands of India. In closing, it lists some major islands of the world and thanks contributors for their work on the presentation.
1) The document provides information about Prasanna Harishchandra Gaikwad, a student of F.Y B.B.A 1st semester at Smt. SUDHATAI MANDKE COLLEGE. It includes their name, class, roll number, and subject of study.
2) It then provides a detailed overview of the Andaman Islands, including their location, history under various empires, Japanese occupation during World War 2, recent events, natural disasters, geography, infrastructure, transportation, population statistics, industries, and popular tourist destinations.
3) The cuisine of the Andaman Islands is described, including popular dishes like fish curry, amritsari kulcha

Corals are marine invertebrates that secrete calcium carbonate skeletons. They live in colonies and build coral reefs, which are diverse underwater ecosystems. Coral reefs can be found in shallow, tropical waters between depths of 21-29°C. India has four major coral reefs located in the Gulf of Mannar, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep Islands, and Gulf of Kutch. These reefs support a high diversity of corals, but are threatened by natural stresses like storms as well as human activities such as pollution, destructive fishing, and climate change. Conservation efforts aim to protect coral reefs through increased monitoring and enforcement of regulations.
A study on the biodiversity of snake island in South Andaman - JBESInnspub Net
Snake Island is an uninhabited small rocky islet off Carbyn’s Cove in Port Blair, Andaman. The biodiversity of this rocky island is its distinctive feature as it becomes a small habitat for various organisms close to the open sea. During this present study a total no. of 217 species were recorded out of which 205 has been identified. Pisces was the dominant group, followed by cnidarians, molluscs, arthropods etc. The island is highly influenced by sea water as during high tides nearly 75 % of the island is submerged by seawater. This is the reason of dominance of marine organisms (94 %) over terrestrial organisms (6 %) in the island. Another characteristic feature of the island is the formation of numerous rocky and sandy water channels and the presence of a ‘coral pool’ at the end of one such channel on the north-eastern part of the island. During high tide these channels are filled with water and exchange of seawater takes place in the coral pool, where highest diversity of species was observed. Lack of intertidal species in the island is evident due to the high action of waves from the open sea and lack of hiding areas other than rocky crevices. The document discusses the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a remote archipelago located off the coast of India. It describes the islands' diverse ecosystems and cultural traditions of indigenous tribes. Various sections provide details on the islands' history, geography, tourist destinations, efforts towards sustainable tourism, and natural beauty that draws visitors each year to experience its unspoiled landscapes and wildlife.
The Gulf of Mannar Biosphere is located in the Gulf of Mannar between India and Sri Lanka. It was declared the earliest marine biosphere reserve in India in 1989. The Gulf of Mannar Biosphere covers an area of over 10,500 square meters and contains a wide variety of flora and fauna, including 117 hard coral species, sea turtles, sharks, dolphins and more. It provides habitat for many species but also faces threats from pollution, overharvesting, and proposed development projects.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Andaman And Nicobar Islands
The Andaman Islands are an Indian
archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. These
islands are known for their palm-lined,
white-sand beaches, mangroves and
tropical rainforests. Coral reefs supporting
marine life such as sharks and rays make
for popular diving and snorkelling sites.
Indigenous Andaman Islanders inhabit the
more remote islands, many of which are
off limits to visitors.

4. Havelock Island
Havelock Island is part of Ritchie’s Archipelago, in
India’s Andaman Islands. It’s known for its dive
sites and beaches, like Elephant Beach, with its
coral reefs. Crescent-shaped Radhanagar Beach
is a popular spot for watching the sunset. On the
island’s east side, rocky sections mark long, tree-
lined Vijaynagar Beach. The island's forested
interior is home to birdlife such as white-headed
mynas and woodpeckers.

Barren Island is an island located in the Andaman
Sea, dominated by Barren Volcano, the only
confirmed active volcano in South Asia, and the only

10. North Sentinel Island
North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands,
which includes South Sentinel Island, in the Bay of
Bengal. It is home to the Sentinelese who, often
violently, reject any contact with the outside world,
and are among the last people worldwide to remain
virtually untouched by modern civilization. As such,
only limited information about the island is known.
Nominally, the island belongs to the South
Andaman administrative district, part of
the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar
Islands.[8] In practice, Indian authorities recognise
the islanders' desire to be left alone and restrict their
role to remote monitoring. Thus the island can be
considered a sovereign entity under Indian

12. Mystery of North Sentinel Island
North Sentinel Island remains one of the most
mysterious unexplored islands in the world. A group
of indigenous people, the Sentinelese, live on North
Sentinel Island. Their population is estimated to be
between 50 and 400 individuals. The Sentinelese
reject any contact with other people, and are among
the last people to remain virtually untouched by
modern civilization.
Odd stories have now started to spread concerning
mysterious and strange activities.
On 2 August 1981, the ship Primrose grounded on the
North Sentinel Island reef. A few days later,
crewmen on the immobile vessel observed that
13. The captain of the Primrose radioed for an urgent
drop of firearms so the crew could defend
themselves, but did not receive them.
Heavy seas kept the islanders away from the ship.
After a week, the crew were rescued by a helicopter
working under contract to the Indian Oil And Natural
Gas Commission (ONGC).
The Sentinelese apparently survived the 2004 Indian
Ocean earthquake and its after-effects, including the
tsunami and the uplifting of the island. Three days
after the event, an Indian government helicopter
observed several of them, who shot arrows and
threw stones at the hovering aircraft with the
apparent intent of repelling it
