7. What if you do not comply?
• The following sanctions can be imposed:
– a warning in writing in cases of first and non-intentional non-
compliance
– regular periodic data protection audits
– a fine up to 20,000,000 EUR or up to 4% of the annual
worldwide turnover of the preceding financial year in case of an
enterprise, whichever is greater.

Anytime you need to share confidential
information about yourself, such as your
contact information, social security
number, or credit/bank account number,
you should always make sure that the site
is HTTPS.
For example, after you fill out a form with
all of your payment information and click
the Next button, this information is then
sent over the world wide web to the
company’s processing stations or banks,
and it is during this transfer that
information tends to get hacked.
